  1. Hi I have sent out a few messages but not had a response yet, so hoping some of you good folk may be able to help. My flat has had some fairly severe water penetration following heavy rain, and it appears that this may have come through the wall due to some damaged brickwork. I need someone who is able to repair the brickwork (on the second floor) and address any apparent issues. I need this fairly urgently, but as I am in a different timezone, arranging this is difficult. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
  2. Hi The flat below me has reported water coming through their ceiling from my flat but the source can't be found. Unfortunately, I am not in the country, therefore unable to investigate myself so am looking for recommendations for a reliable plumber who can help me out. Many thanks John
  3. I've had 2 "missed you" cards in the last couple of weeks. I was definitely in and even checked the bell was working. No chance they even tried. Even more annoying, I went to Peckham and they wouldn't let me have the parcel addressed to my wife as I only had a photo of her ID and not the real thing.
  4. Cella, I'm not quite sure where laziness enters into things. If someone has Social Anxiety Disorder and didn't ask a question, do you consider that lazy? As per your repeated comment about trolling, I think you may need to look up the definition and consider your own raisin d'etre here. You seem to be lacking somewhat in self awareness. I also clearly stated my praise for Ahmed the barber and would recommend him quite happily so how a simple question could be considered to have malicious intent baffles me. I should also point out that if that were indeed my intent, your own responses, which in turn have repeatedly kept this thread alive, have only served to boost the visibility of the original post.I could question your own motive in this regard.
  5. Cella, is this a cry for help? You seem desperate to get a reaction from someone. If you need any support or someone to talk to, please just ask. There are lots of kind and open-hearted people in East Dulwich who I'm sure would be happy to offer a non-judgemental, friendly ear.
  6. Thanks for the helpful reply Urbanfox. Good to know. Urbanfox Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Ahmed is still around. 7. Why comment if you have nothing helpful add? It was a fairly straightforward question. The fact I didnt ask the guy cutting my hair at the time is moot unless you have a time machine.
  8. I've been getting my hair cut at GK barbers for the last 5 years or so after ruling out others in the area for various reasons. The owner Ahmed is always friendly, does a decent job and doesn't overcharge. The last couple of times I've been however, he has not been there. The cut I've had hasn't been to the same standard and the guy cut my neck with a razor blade today without even acknowledging it. The price has also gone up a couple of quid so I wondered if Ahmed is still running the place. Anyone know?
  9. Hi I have a leaking Worcester boiler which needs attention. I've opened it up and the flow unit has a pinhole in it so have ordered the part but don't have time to fit it. If you want to get in touch with a quote or recommendation, that would be appreciated. I did have someone's details but can't seem to find them. I'd prefer not to be charged a ridiculous amount for an hour's work bit appreciate people need to make a living. Would like it sorted in the next couple of days if possible. Many thanks
  10. Also looking for someone can anyone offer me some quotes for a very thorough clean including 3 carpeted rooms and oven etc? Thanks
  11. Thanks for the messages everyone. I'll be in touch.
  12. Hi I don't have any work that is required at the moment, but wondered if anyone could recommend a local handyman who might be available, sometimes at short notice at short notice. It may involve some basic plumbing/electrics. Thanks John
  13. Hi Linda I know this message was a while ago, but did you find someone? I'm now in the same situation as temporarily moving abroad and won't be able to manage it myself. Thanks John
  14. Hi I'm an Outstanding graded primary school teacher available for private tuition of pupils over the summer months. I'm a KS2 specialist (Y3-6), currently teaching year 6 but with experience across all primary school ages. I am maths lead at my current school but have strengths across all subjects. I can also help if your child is about to make the transition into secondary but would like to make sure they are ready. I can tutor in your own home, at my own flat or in the library. I'm male with enhanced DBS check and can provide references. Please get in touch if you would like more information. Thanks John
