  1. Niko is a fantastic plumber and a great guy. We've used him several times and he arrives on time, with a great attitude and always gets the job done. It's not a stretch to say I don't mind when my sink gets a leak because it means I get to call Niko! Ok, maybe that's a stretch but still. Highly recommended.
  2. I don?t usually write reviews but simply had to for Derek at Finishing Point. He is amazing. If you?re considering using him to restore or replace your floors, here?s what you?ll get: He will return your call or text immediately, offer a competitive quote, not lay on the pressure, work with your schedule, show up on time and with a smile on his face, never complain, sort any problems that come up and, in the end, leave you with gorgeous floors. (We decided to lay new floorboards over our existing ones, as they were so damaged. Derek matched our desired colour to perfection and stained the boards himself.) He also makes and restore wooden furniture out of his shop in Herne Hill and lives in East Dulwich so cares about the community. Sorry to ramble. In short, highly recommended! Derek, Finishing Point, 07956 545215
  3. Hello, We're looking for a qualified plumber available today to lift three radiators about 25mm so our hardwood flooring can be installed. We live on Melbourne Grove. Thank you! Best, Caroline
  4. Greg is fantastic. He wallpapered two bedrooms, cut several wooden doors to perfection, installed roman blinds and managed to hang an extremely heavy mirror in the tightest of spots - a job another decorator told me couldn't be done. He and his team spent hours on it and never complained once. And that is what I like most about Greg - he is a true professional, willing to tackle anything and completing each job beautifully. Highly recommended.
  5. Another glowing recommendation for Richard. He painted our reception room, hallway, kitchen and bedrooms to a very high standard and at a very fair pric). In addition to being very good at his job, he is honest, strait-forward, respectful, attentive, funny and a pleasure to have around the house. Now that he's gone, I feel we need a cardboard cut-out of him to fill the void! ;) Thank you, Richard!
  6. A glowing recommendation for Chris with Superb Moves. I loved these guys. Chris was fantastic from the beginning, giving us a highly competitive estimate and was flexible with our timeline when our move date had to change. He and his team showed up promptly both days with smiles on their faces, ready to tackle anything. They never complained, they got on with the job and they moved everything in absolutely perfect condition. I would use them again in a heartbeat and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy and hardworking team. Thank you, Chris! http://www.superbmoves.co.uk
  7. Hi. I stumbled upon your post whilst searching for "trampoline" (you said your children would use the new sofa as a trampoline!) and realised I may have exactly what you're looking for. We are moving next week and were planning to sell our 3 year-old sofa.com sofa, as we won't have room for it in our new house. It is our second sofa.com sofa and I think they're really well made and manage to look classic yet still current. As I'm washing the covers on our sofa now (we have a 2 and a 4 year old who don't necessarily use it as a trampolie, but do manage to draw on it far too often! Thankfully it comes out in the wash!) I will post pictures of the sofa from the sofa.com website. It's a 2 1/2 seater Bluebell (total width 190 cm). The fabric is "natural flax pure belgian linen." You can see more on the website. The only problem we've had with it is that the linen fabric tends to "pull." Is that the right word for it? It annoys me a bit but my husband doesn't seem to mind - says it adds character. We are moving next Thursday (27th) and it will be available then. Let me know if you'd like to take a look. We live in East Dulwich. Thank you! (And sorry for bothering you, if you're not interested...) Caroline
  8. Hello. I just sent you an email. Very glad you reached out! Hope I can help. Best, Caroline
  9. We lost our orange scooter near Jags yesterday (Wednesday, 16/03). Any chance anyone found it? Thank you.
  10. I'd like to recommend my fantastic cleaners who have some free time in their schedule. B? and Lena are hard-working, thorough, honest and, above all, very nice! You can reach B? at 07951992403 or her husband Carlos at 07717441647.
  11. Great experience with Nico on two occasions. Got to us quickly and very flexibly, provided good advice, and a very fair price. Replaced taps on bath and cleaned out kitchen drain. Thanks Nico!!
  12. I forgot to add that she charges ?10.50/hr.
  13. I just wanted to recommend my fantastic cleaner, as she's looking for more work in the area. Her name is Be (pronounced Bay) and I couldn't speak more highly of her. She and her team are hard-working, efficient, thorough and trustworthy. Her husband Carlos, who's also very nice, runs the business. You can reach Carlos at +447717133336 and Be at +447951992403. Feel free to pm me for more, if needed.
  14. Thanks, everyone, for responding so quickly - both privately and on the forum. I found a painter and now have some great contacts for the future.
  15. Hi! We just moved to East Dulwich, I'm 36 weeks pregnant and am looking for experienced painters to paint 3 large rooms (kitchen, nursery and sitting room) and 1 small bathroom. (I've already received two quotes for under ?1100 - not including paint - but the painters can't fit me in quickly enough.) Thank you. I look forward to hearing from you!
