A new Georgian wine shop called 80-20 Wines has just opened at the north end of Peckham Rye, next to Old Spike Roastery. https://www.instagram.com/p/Cz7XSrZIqsp/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==

Hi Sue, Its best to use the Contact Us link which you can find at the bottom of the website to ask me questions - that way it goes to my inbox. To answer your question, there is a button at the top of the text editor for making a link. Press that and you'll see a popup. Just type the link URL in both of the fields in the popup (e.g. www.wegottickets.com/thegooseisout) and it will work

To clarify: For simplicity, its intended this forum board is for any debate or issue related to transport or roads. East Dulwich, Southwark, London-wide or even country wide. There will be no lounging unless the topic has absolutely nothing to do with these subjects. However, as usual, please respect standard forum etiquette. Keep on topic as much as possible. If someone makes a post about a specific local issue, please avoid replies which derail into a wider debate. Please start your own topic if you want to change the conversation. Please be respectful when debating. Be mindful that other people may have a difference of opinion to yourself. Especially important in this forum board, as historically many of the topics here (LTNs, CPZs, ULEZ, cyclists vs drivers) provoke strong debate. I have added this message to the top of this forum board for all to see (click the orange 'Rules for Roads & Transports' button at the top). At the moment I don't see the volume of new topics being created on this board to be high enough that local issues on this board are drowned out by the more general debate focused topics. Having every single transport related discussion here is a much simpler concept for new members to understand and avoids me having to make an arbitrary decision if or when every topic in here gets lounged.

Where to place request for beauty treatment recommendation
Joe replied to Lee Scoresby's topic in The Lounge
Hi, If you want to ask about a local shop which does this, you can ask in General ED Issues / Gossip If its general advise (not related to East Dulwich), then The Lounge -
Hi, I have added a filter to prevent ads from pet sales. So hopefully this one will no longer show up. Please report back if not.

Quick route is to click this link to visit your Private Messages: https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/messenger/ This is also available as a question on the FAQ: https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/faq/

Hi, Quick way - go to this page https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/messenger/ Alternatively you can access this page via the following methods: On a laptop/desktop: click the envelope icon in the top right of the screen On a mobile device (e.g. iphone, android), press the More icon at the bottom and then the envelope icon at the top On this page, you can find all messages you have sent and received in a list. There is a search bar at the bottom ("Search Messages in this Folder") which could help you find an old message. FYI there is no specific 'sent box' page. All sent and received messages are listed on that page and grouped per conversation, similar to what you would expect on a chat app such as WhatsApp etc.

Thanks jazzer I appreciate it! Many other independent local community internet forums have shut down over the last few years, with the rise in popularity of other platforms like Facebook, Nextdoor, even other local whatsapp groups. But I can assure everyone EDF will still be around for the years to come. Its been a pleasure to run this website🙂

This is a full list of the changes, before and after: https://www.thegazette.co.uk/notice/4297157 Interesting to note that all other parking charges (e.g. virtual permits) seem to have had inflationary increases, but residents permits for non-EVs have nearly doubled.

Hi Silvano, Your feedback page is located here: https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/64545-recommendation-silvano-driving-instructor The replies are organised in chronological order, so the latest ones appear at the end. That was the same on the old forum as well. I'm not sure what the "feedback seems "lost" in between other posts" part means. Could you describe this further? Thanks.

Turning right from East Dulwich Grove onto Forest Hill Rd
Joe replied to a topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
No worries. You may have accidentally pressed the 'last page' button situated next to the page numbers. Its been done before 😄 -
Hi Kimsi, When you press 'Start New Topic', if you've previously entered some text then navigated away to a different page without submitting it, then this text will be remembered next time press 'Start New Topic' . This is to prevent you losing all the text you've entered if you accidentally close/navigate away from this page. If this happens, you will see a message below the text box saying 'Your previous content has been restored'. Are you seeing this message? If so then that could be why. All you would need to do is press 'Clear editor' and this text will disappear. If that isn't the problem, please reply here and I will investigate further.

Thanks for the feedback. Appreciated 👍 The reputation thing is a feature which I've accidentally enabled prematurely (I need to do some testing on it first) so I have disabled it for the time being. Thanks for pointing this out! But if you are curious, its was a tracker for showing how many times you've been 'thanked' using the icon at the bottom right of each post.

Hi, You can select the messages then press the Move button, assuming you have some folders. This is a screenshot if you are on mobile but there should be something similar if you are using a laptop/desktop PC.

Hi Sue, Not a problem, you can create another forum account for this purpose. When you create an account you will need to use a unique email address which isn't used by another account. This is a technical restriction. If you have a separate email address which you use to manage your events then feel free to use that one when registering. Joe

Yes seems you are correct. Thanks for pointing it out. I'll add it to my list, but its a lower priority one at the moment.

FYI I am looking to migrate to the new forum system very soon. Potentially overnight tonight during the quiet hours if everything goes well. As mentioned, all members, posts, private messages will be migrated so hopefully the transition will be seamless as possible.

Hi Sue, I can see you signed up via the Google form. The email would have been sent on 23rd Feb. Anyone who signed up prior to that date should have had an email sent to them. If you can't see it, let me know and I can resend.

The maximum file size is 8MB which should be large enough for most photos. Are you trying to upload a file or something else? If a photo, which device did you take it using?
-
Thanks to the people who have filled out the form so far. I will hopefully be able to send out the link in the next couple of days. I agree. The private messaging system in the upcoming forum platform is simpler and should be much more intuitive to use than this one.

Not sure but you could probably work it out using Google Street View. If you're viewing on a PC / laptop browser, if you go to North Cross Road on Street View you can press 'See more dates' in the top right corner and choose a date around 2015. So you can figure out which shops were active at that time.

I'll give you a more sensible answer as I've searched for the same thing (but around ED/Peckham and not Brockley/HoP) Most proper co-workspaces will charge you £50+ a month upwards for a hotdesk and more for a fixed one. There isn't anywhere local which does a 'free' model as far as I'm aware. Obviously not your requested area, but there Market Peckham which does a trial for £40. Or maybe ask some local co-workspaces if you can have a free trial day as it sounds like you want to do this for a one-off. Otherwise, you'd probably have to look for a cafe which opens early. Most cafes are fine with people working there as long as you keep the coffees coming! Pubs are another option but most of them open at 12pm, so not useful for mornings.

Thanks jazzer. Back in June 2022 when the migration was done from the old forum platform to the current, there were short timescales to get it all migrated and tested over - Mark's hosting contract had a fix end date at the start of July, so this was a hard deadline. There were also various technical reasons we couldn't simply continue to use the old forum platform. Mark did bring in a few volunteers to help test things, but obviously only so much feedback can be actioned upon in a short space of time. With the platform changes I'm proposing, there has no such deadline and we should be able to expand the amount of time we put into testing to cover a wider range of forum members.
