  1. Huh, an email notification of new posts on my thread on the EDF. Well, that's a blast from the past. Thanks, llyamah, and for the PM, but it was three years ago. Sorry not to have updated, I hope no-one has been losing sleep over MrJ's lost suit, but we got it back not long after a posted. And not much longer after that moved out of ED.
  2. This much loved suit is still missing. Please check your sheds and garages... Or wardrobes.
  3. I thought about it when I fisrt posted, puzzled, but I didn't quite feel right about putting someones name and street name on a public forum. I did have a look at the electoral register yesterday (thanks to a handy PM tip) and can't find anyone of the name he gave us on Woodwarde, so he may actually have no idea who's got it.
  4. I've tried it, he's given me the name and what he thinks is the address, no luck.
  5. I'm coming out of forum retirement to make a desperate plea... Last Saturday someone collected MrJ's beige summer suit from Spot Dry Cleaners, on Lordship Lane near the Plough, by mistake instead of his own. After a week of fobbing us off, the owner has today admitted that he knows the man's name and possibly his address (he thinks he lives on Woodwarde Road) but actually has no way of contacting him. The suit is a beige, silk-linen, Charles Tyrwhitt summer suit with a 40 inch jacket and 34x34 trousers (a completely different size to the one left behind, so won't be any good to whoever's got it and might be a nasty surprise if they don't realise until they come to wear it!) I know it's not the end of the world and the cleaner has reluctantly agreed to pay if it doesn't turn up, but it's a really nice suit and he'd really just like it back. So, if you collected a suit from Spot Dry Cleaners last Saturday, especially if you live on Woodwarde, please check you've got the right one and if not PM me, or just take it back to the cleaners. Thanks. ps Mr Admin, sir, I wasn't sure this was the right place for this, but I took the chance, sorry if I'm wrong!
  6. To be honest, I think it was the push-up bra question that swung it.
  7. 88% Wonder Woman "a beautiful princess with great strength of character" Well, I think it's very accurate.

    10k run?

I have, very nearly, done exactly that. Started running in May and should be up to 10k on my long run in a couple of weeks. Get the book "Running Made Easy" and off you go... Good luck!
  9. Puzzled, I'm, um, puzzled by your response. Reading through the thread there seems to be a mix of people saying they love it round here, people saying the article is a bit OTT and cynics suggesting it's all about property prices. The only real angst is from huncamunca and he's like that about everything. I expect eater81's post was pretty angsty and spiteful, but I didn't see it before it was deleted, so can't say for sure. Seems a bit harsh to brand everyone as appaling and desperate...
  10. Tricky. I know both routes fairly well as my parents used to live off the M4 and now live off the M3 (in towns, obviously, not just on the hard shoulder) For the M3 I do the South Circular and A316 route - Clapham, Putney, East Sheen, Richmond, Twickenham, M3. It's fine when the traffic is fine and awful when it's not. Friday evening will be nearer the awful end of the scale. The Vauxhall Bridge and embankment route to the M4 is usually ok, even on a Friday, but the M4 will be busy and so will the M25. I think, on balance, I'd do the South Circular and accept that you might sit in East Sheen for a while... Good luck.
  11. But, Pickle, I told you, it's just the thinnest venner of normality... Sorry not to have been able to stay longer, but it was lovely to see everyone I did catch early on.
  12. IUI is available for NHS-funded patients, but it's not offered as much because it's only useful for certain types of infertility and is far less successful than IVF. Just one word of warning about looking at success rates, particularly for private clinics, who are, after all, trying to sell themselves. This might seem really picky, but it's actually really important and the doctor in me can't help wanting to point it out... Lots of clinics publish their "Clinical Pregnancy" rate, which, depending on their definitions, may mean positive pregnancy test or foetal heart seen on scan. It's not the same as the "Live Birth" rate, which, obviously, is the one that matters. The clinic linked above, which may be excellent, I don't know, give very high clinical pregnancy rates, compared with other centres, but doesn't say what their live birth rates are. To get a full picture of any centre you need to know their live birth rate and their exclusion criteria for treatment - a centre may have an excellent success rate, because it only accepts patients who have a good chance of success.
  13. We did. And if we can manage it in an emergency department...
  14. Jeremy, the one right above yours that says..... I get the idea of cooking as a pleasure, especially when cooking for friends and family, and I completely agree. But, still, I can't quite get my head around the idea of individually peeling chickpeas. I guess I'll leave it to the really committed foodies, like Helen, and TedMax. Apparently.
