  1. Not in anybody’s back yard, to be fair. I think I made it clear it was just my opinion. As far as I understand it, there is no wider need for any of the proposed functionality (and I’d be happy to be shown actual evidence otherwise); it’s just an big digital advertising screen taking up quite a lot of pavement. None of it is a public service, as one can see on the existing - well, I’ll call it a digital bollard. So yes, I think it’s terrible idea. And if you don’t, that’s also absolutely fine
  2. Whilst reading about what was Poundland, I saw that BT has applied to install (block the pavement with) one of its large screen advertising 'street hubs' outside the building. This seems like a terrible idea in my opinion - others may disagree - but you might want to look at the planning application and comment. There is still a day or two to do so. Here's the relevant application 25/AP/2825 https://planning.southwark.gov.uk/online-applications/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=documents&keyVal=T3G4H5KBH1500 and how it will look https://planning.southwark.gov.uk/online-applications/files/BDF327FA0103A31946387A251B9C9D45/pdf/25_AP_2825-ELEVATION_PLAN-4143504.pdf
  3. We’re looking for an after-school nanny to do pick-ups, play dates, cooking dinner and general hanging out with a lovely eight year old from the start of September. Three and a half hours a day, Monday to Thursday, near Goose Green. Nannying is a proper job, and our set up reflects that: guaranteed hours, a contract and PAYE. There’s also the option for a few extra hours of housekeeping if wanted. We’re only looking now as our current nanny is moving on to bigger and better things at the end of this school year! We’d hope a good nanny - female, male, or anywhere in between 🙂 - will become part of our family. If you’re interested, please get in touch.

  5. But they’ve sent out the same leaflet, with the day of the week on the front, just no calendar on the back page - instead a pointless profile of 2024 plans! 🙃
  6. This is the smallest of things, but… Southwark has delivered its guide to bins for 2024 and, for the first time, it does not include an actual calendar of which bin is being collected on which day. Instead we have to scan a QR code or (allegedly) write to the council to request a printed copy. The leaflet is the same length and paper quality, however one page is now taken up with the council’s plans for 2024. We find the calendar on the back really helpful - just leave it on the fridge door, no need to go online and find a website and find the day and find the collect type. It’s just a bin. I really hope it’s changed back for 2025. Such an unnecessary change.
