  1. We’re looking for an after-school nanny to do pick-ups, play dates, cooking dinner and general hanging out with a lovely nearly-eight year old from the start of January. Three and a half hours a day, Monday to Thursday, near Goose Green. Nannying is a proper job, and our set up reflects that: guaranteed hours, a contract and PAYE. There’s also the option for a few extra hours of housekeeping if wanted. We’re only looking now as our much-loved current nanny is moving on to bigger and better things! We’d hope a good nanny - female, male, or anywhere in between 🙂 - will become part of our family. If you’re interested, please get in touch.
  2. But they’ve sent out the same leaflet, with the day of the week on the front, just no calendar on the back page - instead a pointless profile of 2024 plans! 🙃
  3. This is the smallest of things, but… Southwark has delivered its guide to bins for 2024 and, for the first time, it does not include an actual calendar of which bin is being collected on which day. Instead we have to scan a QR code or (allegedly) write to the council to request a printed copy. The leaflet is the same length and paper quality, however one page is now taken up with the council’s plans for 2024. We find the calendar on the back really helpful - just leave it on the fridge door, no need to go online and find a website and find the day and find the collect type. It’s just a bin. I really hope it’s changed back for 2025. Such an unnecessary change.
  4. Hello. We have a number of > clothes that we wish to pass on to a charity shop (the rest will go in the clothes recycling bins). Does anyone have any recommendations for shops on Lordship Lane or nearby? I know there is St Christophers and Shelter, but there may be other options with a greater need. Meanwhile I'd highly recommend passing on good, clean baby / child clothes and accessories to the Little Village 'baby bank'. I know the founder, she created an incredible organisation doing a great deal of good for families in need.
