  1. We are also thinking of moving our son for 6th form - he's in year 10 at the moment. Brit school sounds interesting! Do a lot of pupils move schools at this stage?
  2. Our 14 yr old son is looking for new things to do at weekends (or evenings, homework permitting) and is keen to make more local friends as his school is some distance from SE22. Has anyone got any suggestions for clubs, etc? He'd be interested in joining a drama club, or maybe some sort of sports like tennis or badminton but isn't too keen on football. He's still good friends with a couple of people from primary school but doesn't seem to have made any really close friends at secondary school even after 3 years. He's friendly with people at school and quite outgoing but seems to lack confidence in asking to meet up with them out of school. He wants to broaden his circle of friends but it's hard to know how to help him without making it into a big issue for him.... Have any other parents got sons in a similar situation? Help!!!
  3. There's a youth club for ages 11-14 on friday nights 7.30-9pm run by a local church just off Gowlett Road. You don't have to be a church-goer to attend and it's very inclusive. The people who run it are lovely. PM me if you want a contact number. Other than that, have you thought about Cubs (for boys and girls) or brownies??
