  1. We used baby luv boutique for our sons 3rd spider-man themed party after they planned my baby shower. L Highly recommended. Both ladies done a fantastic job from sourcing the venue to ensuring the day ran smoothly meaning myself and my husband actually got to enjoy the party. Not sure if they are on here but you can see their posts on Instagram. @babyluvboutiqueltd

Won?t let me load pics as the files too large but feel free to PM me.

  2. Sorry if there is already a thread in this but I can't seem to find anything.

My daughter would like to start an activity (she turns 6 in 2 weeks), and was wondering what people's opinions/experiences are on brownies (rainbows for her age group) or scouts.

She can be girly girly and right into arts and crafts but on the other foot loves to be outdoors exploring too. She always quite happily goes with the flow.

    Grateful for any advice.

  3. Why do you have to end up with a house where boys and girls only play with certain toys? Surely this will only happen if you encourage it to?

I have a 5 yo girl and my son is nearly 2. My daughter is very much into barbies and Dolly's and all things pink, where as my son loves a ball and a car, but I can guarantee if you put a barbie and car in front of him he will most certainly go for the barbie. He is constantly attached to one of my daughters Dolly's and walks around calling it his baby - feeds it, cleans it etc. we've never had an incident where he has been discouraged from playing with a TOY whether it's blue, pink or yellow.

I find it reassuring that my 2 can play together be it racing cars or playing house with dolls. Is this not something that we all grow up to do. We don't discourage men from tending to their babies or woman from driving cars.

  4. My great aunt is missing. She was down from Birmingham visiting relatives in the Peckham area. She will be wearing a brown mac and we believe she may have a grey cabin suitcase with her. She is suffering from Alzheimer's and has been missing since 5am this morning. Her name is Cynthia but will also answer to Aunt Flo. Police are aware and is treating this as a high risk case. Please dial 999 if you see her on your whereabouts.
  5. Maybe to try and keep him on board whilst driving you could tell him you don't remember the way home and could he tell you which way you need to go. This used to work wonders when me and my daughter used to go for walks and she would start getting ratty on the way home. When we got to the front door I would give her lots of praise saying thank you so much for helping mummy get home, I would have got lost if you wasn't with me. Her face would light up and she would be so pleased with herself.

I'm also a fan of dealing with the incident as and when it happens, I think it's unfair to wait until you get home to tell them off about something that happened earlier on in the day. We deal with it there and then and then don't bring it up again.

    Good luck!!

  6. Arrrgggghhhhhhh, kids have drove me crazy today, decided not to cook and send OH out for a takeaway. He opted for fish and Chips, so I asked for a cheese burger, with lettuce and cabbage.....

......he comes home with a burger, with lettuce and onion, no cheese, no cabbage. Think the kids tantrum has worn off on me cause I've just thrown a tantrum over it and refused to eat it. Now I'm sat with the smell of fish and chips wafting around the room, and am just too stubborn to give in....god damn my stubbornness

  7. My daughter was in private nursery and we moved her to the school nursery when she was entitled to 15 hours. I am so glad that we did as we was intending on sending her there when she started school, and absolutely hated the place.

She is now attending another local school, and although it has only been a week, so far so good, and a major difference. The transistion hasn't been a problem at all for my daughter, and through both moves she has settled in great and made friends.

  8. Hey, my lo is also in reception at Bellenden, she too fell over on Friday and grazed her knee. When I collected her at the end of the day her teacher informed me that she had fallen over, and a plaster was put in her knee. She fell over again on Monday and another child stepped on her finger ripping the skin, and I was again informed on Monday when I collected her. As another poster mentioned maybe teacher was attending to another child. Was your child in distress, if your child wasn't crying etc, maybe teacher thought to give to much unneeded attention could make your child more stressed out about the situation. Maybe it was a case of "opsy daisy, up you get, go and get some tissue".
  9. I am trying to find an activity for my 4 year old daughter to attend, preferably gymnastics but also interested in dance.

We had a trial at a street dance class today but as I am not a driver we would be running late every week for the class by the time I pick her up from nursery and travel to the venue, and she also complained that she was exhausted, haha....so preferably something on a Saturday.

    Any suggestions mums/dads?
