I usually park on the road along the top of Ruskin Park if I need to drive to Kings. One side is residents only between 12 and 2, the other is Pay by Phone between 12 and 2 and free the rest of the time. You do sometimes have to park someway down to find a space, but I’ve never not found one and it’s a nice walk through the park to the hospital. If whoever I’m picking up is less mobile then I pick them up from the front of the Maudsley. You can’t park there, but it’s a good pick-up/drop-off zone.

4 x Table legs - £15 (with free table top)

The pieces on offer are 1 x plinth, 1 x base, 2 x two drawer units and the fittings to create a four drawer chest of drawers. W: 80cm D:43cm H:98cm The system is modular though so other pieces can be bought from ikea to configure it in a different way: There is some slight damage to top. Also deep scratches to the underside of the base, but that doesn’t affect the stability. Afraid I have no photos of it when still built, but the photo of the top shows the marks.

Very happy to add my recommendation for TDR property maintenance. Tony and his team have transformed my front garden, breaking up a bare patch of concrete and laying a beautiful victorian tiled path. They've also repaired a wall and a fence for us. Richard's tiling has been meticulous and Tony's communication has been great throughout the process. We wouldn't hesitate to use him again.

No, not Grace and Favour. (Although I loved that place; they did the most amazing garlickiest hummus.) This was further down, near Panther Cabs, double fronted and on two floors I think. -

What was the name of the shop down at the bottom end of NX rd that sold bits of furniture and ‘objets’? Was one of the first ‘saw you coming’ shops before ED, Mrs Robinson etc moved in. -

Excellent news. That side of the Rye is horrible to cycle up.

Cycling on Green dale for school run - safe or not?
BeatrixPaddler replied to Suggsy's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Greendale used to be part of my regular cycle route, but I would never use it after dark. I have a woman’s innate suspicion of quiet back routes and I never cycle after dark on a path I wouldn’t be happy to walk on. Far safer to stick to main roads where there are plenty of people about. -
Another recommendation for Greg. Came out at very short notice and did a great job at sorting out our kitchen tap.

Household water softener

We’ve had one for years and I’d thoroughly recommend it. It wasn’t til it had to be unplugged for a kitchen renovation that I remembered what a pain it was constantly having to deal with limescale. We haven’t had any noticeable difference in water pressure, either. Ours is a Harvey’s. We’ve had it around 12 years and have never had any issues with it. -
I used to do Greendale, then wiggle through the alley and past Bessemer Grange to Redpost Hill, over the top of Redpost and then Loughborough, Akerman, Eythorne to Vassal road, then along Brixton Road to the Oval and up to Vauxhall Bridge. It’s not particularly quiet but it’s pretty quick.
