  4. I'd rather be warned if a Head thinks there may be a problem However it was a bit scary for a few seconds . But if we got warnings on daily basis I would begin to wonder.
  5. I had a message yesterday from Heber "5 children have arrived safely for the residential trip" As there were thirty five children (and nothing on the news) on the trip I assumed the word "Year " fell off the front of the Message due to a glitch with the BT telling bone.
  6. You dont need the Police to set it up for you. http://www.ourwatch.org.uk/get_involved/running_a_scheme/
  7. Same way they do in Dulwich. Barrier and Authorised Vehicles Only. Simples. And no cars to Car Park. If the Car Drivers dont behave they only have them selves to blame.

  9. Tsk. If it weren't for you meddling kids!
  10. Humps are Good Idea if idiots are speeding through the park. Alternative is like Dulwich park . BAN CARS!
  11. Car drivers seem pretty daft. OF COURSE BUSES RUN EMPTY WHEN GOING AGAINST THE FLOW. THEY ARE GOING TO THE END OF THE ROUTE TO TURN AROUND AND PICK UP THE HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE COMMUTING IN OR OUT OF LONDON. Where as of course cars run both ways with 3 or 4 empty seats.
  12. A neighbourhood watch is set up by the residents not the Police. It requires you to organise meetings and appoint a Chair. You can then invite the Police. You don't need the Police to organise you into a meeting. ?
  13. Buses carry more than 3 people and at the rush hour are often full Genius!. Most cars 1 person only.
  14. The Italian prisoners of war came to Peckham Rye Common in 1943, after Italy's capitulation. They were used as a labour force as agricultural labourers in the country but in the cities they were used for clearing bomb sites, repairing roads and later on in post-war reconstruction. It is unusual to find POW work hostel buildings still remaining especially in an urban area. There is evidence that the two huts nearest the old putting green were used by German POWs after the war. Later all the huts were used by displaced persons from Poland. During the Italians' occupation they were treated as 'trusties'. They were allowed to go down Rye Lane to shop, they grew vegetables, cereals, kept pigs and poultry. They wore fatigues with a large circle on their backs. They occupied themselves by building a shell and stone grotto 3 and making wooden toys 4. The huts were surrounded by barbed wire, however, and no doubt there was a curfew at night time. I understand that a few of the Italians stayed on over here, but that is anecdotal. References! 1. Prisoners lived on the Rye during the First World War. PSN No 67, p14, 1997 2. 20. ramping up the postage is greedy and wont get you good ratings. sell a few things at very good price and get them out of the door very fast to get good ratings. Reserve prices tend to depress interest. Research prices well by searching for similar sold items. Get your description right and accurate and include all the important keywords. Don't waste money on prime stuff. Always use you free photo. You can always look at other's listings to get ideas about good presentation. Respond to queries quickly.
