  1. Hi bobbly, Glad you came back to me on this. My post you refer to was not very considered and written in haste...I knew I could rely on the Forum to educate me on the subject and I had in fact asked the original question out of a sense of unease about the Dulwich Hamlet situation, which remains. Having had a look online at the Education White paper it seems that this issue is going to continue to dominate education policy and am pondering how many other Southwark schools will be considering it.
  2. That is really excellent, positive news. Do you know when the report will be available on the OFSTED website?
  3. Another vote for Hairy Maclary, anything by Shirely Hughes, Judith Kerr or the Ahlbergs. Would also add the Kipper stories by Mick Inkpen. Winnie the Witch is popular in my house, although maybe from around 3+.
  4. Thanks for info. I can see from the perspective of a parent with a child at an outstanding school, it may make sense.
  5. I see that Dulwich Hamlet Junior School is considering becoming an Academy and there is a "community consultation meeting" tomorrow evening (Thursday 20th Jan). What effect will this have on other schools in the area - Goodrich, Heber, Goose Green, Bessemer ? Will it take a large chunk of funding away from Southwark? Would appreciate the views of some on this Forum who are very well informed about such things. Edited to make clear from title I am talking about the school not the football club!
  6. That's at least 10 years in Opposition then for Labour.
  7. There are no classes this week. The term ended last week.
  8. Cllr Colley, You refer to the agenda for the scrutiny meeting being up on the Council website. Where might I find this as have looked and it is not obvious? Please could you also confirm the time and venue for the meeting ASAP.
