  1. People....please.... Whilst I'm trying to be more relaxed in off-topic issues it must remain a sensible debate. Can we keep the witty asides to the Lounge please.
  2. Peckham Rose - what I meant was that this could easily belong in the "General ED Issues/Gossip" section. However since it covers all of Southwark it shouldn't really be in there. As it is a serious topic I'm sure you don't want it in the Lounge either. So....I'm allowing it to exist in here as long as it follows the rules of all the other threads in here. Is that clearer?
  3. In answer to your questions: No and.... No. Whilst debates will be allowed to wander from the defined perimeters of the original subject matter (much like a real debate), Homer Simpson, bacon sandwiches and other sillyness will still be confined to the Lounge.
  4. Please see here for a minor change to Drawing Room etiquette. I hope more of you will come and post in the near future. Many thanks The Chair
  5. It hasn't gone un-noticed! Whilst the Chair will not resort to BAe style bribes to ensure discussions remain on topic, they may resort to Saudi-style law-enforcement techniques. Gentlemen, please, I implore you.....Cameron & Europe.....
  6. If a desire to discuss Norway, the Chagos Islands, Shetlands, ponies or jumpers overcomes any of you again could you kindly start a seperate thread (there's a jumper pun in there somewhere) to discuss it. Tusen takk.
  7. Right. Executive decision time. I'm bored of yet another thread devoted to this nonsense. There is already one in the lounge here that will suffice. Any further debate can continue there. The Drawing Room is for factual discussion. Homeopathy is fiction. End message.
  8. This is only barely Drawing Room material. Please do not use this thread for personal promotion and keep all discussion relevent to the document at hand. Otherwise I'll move it out....
  9. Try and keep the discussion sensible chaps. Gracias.
  10. I'd rather this didn't descend into a discussion on particular schools, their merits or admissions policy. That can take place in the Family Room. Please keep this on topic. Thank you. The Chair.
  11. Lest anyone think young Mockney's poor spelling and grammar are a result of his comprehensive education, I am reliably informed it is more likely to be because of the small keyboard offered via an iphone. Now.....back to the debate......

  13. Not until it becomes a bit more civilised it's not.

I'm inclined to agree PGC, but I shall give it one more chance to get back on topic. Any discussion of the fallibilities of the Catholic Church should be on another thread, please. We've managed 15 pages - don't make me "lounge it" now.
  15. Steve, I have asked you already (in private) to try and keep the Drawing Room for serious discussion. If you, or anyone else, cannot manage this in relation to men and schoolgirls I shall have to move this to the lounge. I presume the OP wanted a serious debate on this matter. Please respect that. Regards The Chair.

It was a topic about the Drawing Room but I've moved it here since it quickly moved away from that.
  17. It is also filled with pedants who will lounge topics quicker than you can say "relevance".
  18. There was a healthy debate in the Lounge on just this topic.
  19. Try and keep this on topic please. Whilst I'm happy (and in fact would encourage) for people to post statistical information, from time to time I might check to see if it is factually accurate. Lies, damned lies and statistics and all that.....
  20. Thank you. I shall leave it to others to assess their validity.

Do you have a citation for those statistics Hal? It would seem a little high - especially the first sentence.
  22. This topic has become alarmingly frivolous.....
  23. This is getting dangerously close to be being teleported, or beamed down, to the Lounge....
  24. The Chair nods sagely, and refers the honourable gentleman to the opening sentence of his post...
