  1. Good evening James, - yes - please do help - if you'd be kind enough to see recent thread - "Bike steeling Scum"
  2. Bike was stolen from Thorncombe Road SE22 It appear to me that so many bikes get stolen at night round here and in London in general (it must be an organised racket) - that the police - bless them - could spend sometime stopping vans that drive around residential areas in the wee hours and see if they're full of bikes - i know this may not appear to police to be a serious crime - but it's completely rife - and causes massive inconvenience - and really needs someone with the clout to set a project to try and make a difference - I won't hold my breath though -
  3. Just on the off-chance. For the second time in a year - my bike's stolen - late last night with bolt cutters - an old bike chosen to be unattractive - but taken regardless - it had a blue plastic crate attached to the rear rack - Dark blue large frame - with brand OPTIMA in silva letters - . . . . yours, disappointed in Dulwich . . .
  4. sorry - don't know - but was amazed to see - that after last year - when snow was widely forecast - that dog kennel hill was again untreated / unprepared - and surely enough a bus attempted madly to go up - and cf course failed and caused predictable chaos all around hat area - you would have thought that the combined force of painsburies TFL and the council - that this could have ben planned for - what a bunch of muppets
  5. has anyone that's had their bike stolen around here ever managed to recover it? _ if so how / where etc Thanks. ---------- Mine was stolen to days ago - You may have seen my bike over the years parked round Dulwich and East Dulwich - it's quite distinctive. Some nasty shite stole it on Tuesday between 1pm and 11pm from Hillsborough Road SE22 (near Alleyns School). I'b be very grateful if everyone could keep an eye open for it. It's a large / tall Silver 'Ridge Back' man's road bike - with a metal shopping basket - supermarket style - bolted on the back - It's also covered in little round black stickers - each with a letter on - spelling out things like ' I LOVE MY BIKE - and various other silliness. It also has a oversized bell - which is a bit rusty. It's not new - easily 10 years old - but much used and much needed - I've done thousands of miles across London on this bike and would dearly love it back. I have of course called the police ...... awaiting crime no. to be issued. . . .

  10. In Norse mythology, troll, like thurs is a term applied to j?tnar. In Old Norse sources, trolls are said to dwell in isolated mountains, rocks, and caves, sometimes live together (usually as father-and-daughter or mother-and-son), and are rarely described as helpful or friendly
  11. Just a big thank you to the large 4 wheel driving Mum who was seen the last Friday on the corner of Hillsborough Road - driving into my car, smashing the rear lights and then driving off. Unfortunately my neighbor couldn't get a registration as she drove off too quickly, that's the spirit outside a school at 3.30 . . . . a speedy get-away Surely if you can afford a needlessly large flash vehicle as that you can afford to do the decent thing and pay for new lights for my old renault. Shame on you. It's not the first time that this has happened here and I'm sure it will not be the last - it seems that great wealth doesn't automatically afford you of great driving skills or even common decency.
  12. Hello Well as we're getting onto which candidate / politician was more or less 'effective' The Labour team have tried to get in here - after hearing there was curfuffle afoot on the EDF - and tried to get a good look look out of it . . . . . . . oops - : Tessa Jowell and Health Secretary at Dulwich Hospital ( Last week I think) Who are the senior people at the PT these days ?- I think Chriss Bull has moved somewhere yes - I hope it wasn't any kind of promotion - considering the mess he left behind him in this regard - anyone going to held to account the serious failings I wonder? I tried to poilitely point out (to the labour candidate that associating himself to closely to Tessa Jowell would be . . . for his politacal sake - Tessa'a record on this isn't good. I've made some note next to the parts i think where particularly galling / of 'intersst' ; Tessa calls for action on Dulwich Hospital.( As if she hasn't been involved to date almost - she was very much pleased to be associated / involved with it when it was looking like a possitive scenario, pleased to be seen at all the early public meetings etc.) Tessa Jowell and the Health Secretary Andy Burnham met NHS Southwark Chiefs today at Dulwich Community Hospital. During a tough-talking session Tessa told them that she wanted to hear no more excuses over the development (Development - bit vague no?)of the site.( Some detail here would have been good perhaps rather than just posture words - and a list of what the excuses may have been too.) Andy Burnham offered to put NHS Southwark in touch with Department of Health officials to help them push the plans forward and with other NHS projects where similar facilities had been delivered more quickly.(How nice that that DofH will be in touch - were they busy doing something else other the planning healthcare needs for the past nine years?) Tessa said that her constituents were fed up with the lack of progress( funny - we've been telling her that for years) which, she felt, had not been helped by a complete lack of engagement and support from Southwark Council who were in a good position to help push the project through( what a better possition than her - The Secretary of State! So it was nothing to do with her and her ministerial chums keeness for PFI funding methods / LIFT schemes - whether that approach was waranted or not in the particular case then - and this one certainly wasn't - being a factor for the abject failure. It's true that collectively the executive of Southwark council was completely hapless over this issue , though laterly they did try to preserve the historic building - though oddly didn't have the power. When it became obvious that the project was failing / funding less likely and therefor was no case to demolish - but she as our MP also could and should have done far more - not least to be honest in terms of the idiotic ideas behind the funding framework for these type of projects devised by her government) Tessa Jowell said: 'My constituents need to know exactly what services will be provided and when. They want to know when they can expect to receive 21st century health services in a 21st century environment. 'The Secretary of State said that others are doing this much more quickly and he is absolutely right. I urge NHS Southwark to proceed with pace and purpose. If they do I will support them to the hilt. And what (if they don't?)
