  1. Thanks all - I understand the value of the extended rear facing seats and we have two in the back for both my children for regular use. Occasionally when I am giving a third child a lift I put the taller child in the booster in the front passenger (very tricky to squeeze them into the middle of the two rear facing seats), hence the question. Good idea to check manual!
  2. Just that really - child in question is 112cm & 17kg Thanks
  3. I like watching people do their make up on public transport - it's like daytime tv "before and after" on the way to work plus I pick up useful make up tips.
  4. Lost somewhere between Gallery Rd and West Dulwich Station - burgundy scarf, alpaca wool. Not expensive but of great sentimental value Thanks
  5. Eos Dance - they have classes at Dulwich Leisure Centre, amongst others
  6. Try K&O pest control - we used them a few years ago with success
  7. The route may be taken over by southeastern... http://www.beckenhamforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=44
  8. Thanks, that's very helpful!
  9. Can anyone enlighten me whether the trains are running as normal tomorrow? I can not work it out from the useless Southern website. Thanks
  10. Not sure what standard of cake or occasion you are after but Friddles cakes are fab... https://www.facebook.com/friddlescakes/ ETA: I see gebbjane is more deft on the keyboard than board than me and has beaten me to it!
  11. Front bottom or wee bottom - as if she ever hurt herself or was in discomfort then she could use that phrase and the general meaning would be understood (e.g by nursery staff/teacher, school nurse) We avoided vulva, as it doesn't apply to vagina, urethra etc and didn't want to confuse that issue. Now that she is 5.5y I have started taking the opportunity to talk about periods (e.g when she sees my sanitary products and asks about them) and explaining about he vagina etc. I include my 3.5y old boy in these v.informal chats, too not that he listens!
  12. Also thinking of leaving sky - will we have to return the box? We have lots of things recorded on it that I would like to keep.

Thanks v.much - with the yellow warning triangle still on the timetable I dare not get my hopes up.
  14. Great news but I can't find the new timetable online - anyone know if the 8.51 is running from next week? Thanks
  15. Even fewer if the strike on 7 & 8 Sept goes ahead: http://http://www.southernrailway.com

I agree with this - we have 2 kids (girl and boy) so have been through assessments for Herne Hill, DPL, JAPS, Alleyn's and Sydenham at either 3+ or 4+. We didn't do any prep other than take them to the open days, explain that they will be going there to play with the teachers and toys (and adults aren't allowed to play with the children's toys but we will be in another room drinking coffee). We were offered places at all but one. Good luck!
  17. Thanks, I thought it might be the latter. The Southern website states the temp timetable has been issued until Sept 2nd but does not state what will happen after - makes it impossible for me to make plans for the school run.
  18. The original timetable is on the national rail site from Sept 5 - anyone know whether this is a definite (as much as it can be) or just because it hasn't been updated to reflect the revised one? Thanks
  19. Another timetable question....the journey planner for tomorrow says the 8.51 from ED is running - has that been the case for the last few weeks? There are also seems to be two 9.16 (not sure how that is possible with only one platform), a 9.19 and a 9.30. Thanks
  20. Yes, that sounds right - thank you!
  21. There was a thread a several months ago about a science workshop/holiday club - I think it was based in town somewhere. Anyone remember the details or have a link to the thread (I tried a search without luck). Thanks
  22. I do know someone who decided to go state so wrote a polite letter explaining their circumstances (just moved home, new baby, lost track of deadlines) and their first term's fee owed was waived.
  23. We need a new solid wood (or with steel reinforcement)front door (no glass panels). Looked at the Banham website and saw one we liked but reviews are mixed. Any recommendations for a company? Thanks
  24. I hate Chelsea I hate arsenal I am trying to hate Leicester in the hope it'll make me feel better I am not particularly chuffed with my husband right now (arsenal fan) who cheered on Chelsea last night. Generally feeling a bit narked, as I often do at this stage of the season.
  25. I asked a similar question recently and got some helpful replies: http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?20,1657041,1658744#msg-1658744
