  1. Hi If anyone wants to take my booking for Xmas day lunch at 2:30PM FOR 4 people, PM me. The deposit I have paid is ?30. Andy
  2. I thought I'd share my experience earlier this week when I Bought some fish ad chips from Sema's on Underhill Road in case other people are conned in the way I was. As I walked into the shop, one of the servers lifted up from behind the counter a piece of fried fish as if it was freshly cooked. Being somewhat gullible, I fell for it and asked for that particularly piece of fish. It turned out that the fish was not particularly hot and was certainly not freshly cooked. I haven't come across this sort of behaviour anywhere for many years and naturally I went back and complained about the fact I had been conned by a snide trick, but was met with denial and protests of innocence. Once bitten twice shy so obviously I won't be going there again. Andy
  3. Hi No doubt people are aware of the issue of restaurants withholding service charges and tips from waiting and kitchen staff which has recently been in the press. This is something I consider completely unacceptable and dishonest. If I am happy to pay a tip, whether it is included as a service charge or as cash, I expect it to be paid in full to the staff, and not go to the management or increase the company's profits Having said the above, and following a recent visit when the food and service was excellent, it is my understanding that Yamamomo do not pass on all, or possibly any, of the service charge or cash tips to their staff. If people feel the same way as I do, I suggest that if they go to Yamamomo - which I recommend - they should ask the manager what their policy is in this regard. With any luck, a bit of pressure from customers may get them to change their policy and treat their staff and customers with the respect they deserve. I have emailed the company a couple of times on what their policy is on this, but they chose not to reply murt
  4. Sue From what you describe, you may wish to consider getting independent advice on this, particularly as the PW surveyor hasn't filled you with confidence and damage may have been caused to your property. If this matter is still unresolved and you want to discuss it, PM me. Andy
  5. Sounds like an expensive way to eat out and of sorting out your groceries! Seriously though, why would you want to subsidise someone else's business? And Jeremy, you sound like you have some sort of interest. Regardless, no more from me on this.
  6. I don't get it. Why would I give money I've worked for to someone setting up a commercial venture even if it is ?independent? and a ?community? based business and I don't get a stake. I must be missing something here so I would be grateful if someone would enlighten me.
  7. BNG If someone pledges money, would they then have a stake in the business, assuming the Kickstarter target is reached? Andy
  8. I'm not impressed with the number of dissolved companies associated with one or two of the people involved with the "Patch" proposal.
