  1. A black rucksack with an Acer laptop inside was accidentally left at the front gate of a house in Woodwarde Road early this morning. It was apparently still there at 8.30 but was gone by around midday. Could anyone who knows anything please contact me - the laptop's contents are much needed.
  2. Bunch of ten home / office keys with red tag found Woodwarde Road, near junction of Calton Avenue, shortly after midday Tuesday. Please message if they're yours.
  3. I'm afraid that I have to agree with mike. I've lived a few hundred yards from the school for almost 18 years, the coaches and their drivers have behaved in an anti-social manner all of that time, and complaints to the school appear to go unheeded. One for our councillors, perhaps?
  4. A warning about the guy called Joe who runs Mojo Audio, the basement electronics workshop on Lordship Lane. He took an antique record player from me last summer, promised to repair it, then after fobbing me off with one tale after another for months, admitted that he had removed some of the parts and lost them. He then refused to refund my cash deposit. It's a long time since I've had dealings with such an incompetent and dishonest individual. His landlord, who runs the cafe above the workshop, tells me that he too has had problems with Joe and that he's evicting him next month. But if he turns up in the neighbourhood again, I would suggest that people steer well clear of him.
  5. Many thanks for the tip Sandyman. A similar experience Easyman - he's clearly best avoided.
  6. Well he's just tried to hand my antique record player back to me, unrepaired, and with some of the parts missing. He now claims he's mislaid them. When I pointed out that he's had the item for ten weeks, and repeatedly failed to repair it by the dates he's promised, his reply was: "Oh well..." Is he laid back? Or is he a crook? Either way, I won't be going anywhere near his workshop again.
  7. Am I the only person having trouble with Mojo Audio, the audio repair shop in the basement next to the Palmerston? They've had an antique record player of mine for ten weeks now, having taken a deposit for the work. Every time I enquire about it, I'm told that it will be ready by such-and-such a day, but it never is.
