The place on Evelina Road, under the railway bridge, is excellent. I used it regularly before we moved away at Christmas, and miss it! They are very thorough and careful. You often see brand new cars being washed there, which is testament to their reputation.

Posts seem to have been taken off !
Family Room Moderator replied to Passiflora's topic in The Family Room Discussion
It does seem to have disappeared, and I'm afraid I'm not sure why. It hasn't been hidden by a moderator, so I can only assume it has been deleted in error, which sometimes happens by mistake when moderators are using small devices to browse the forum - it's very easy to hit "delete this thread" by mistake. Apologies to the original poster of the thread in question. -
Hello lovely family room community. Six years ago (almost to the day, it was the 10th August), I took over as Family Room Moderator. I thought I'd do it for a year or so, but as tends to happen time flew by, and here I am, something of a veteran. However, it's time for change. At the end of the year my family and I are moving from East Dulwich to New Zealand (how many of you are now going "aha, I know who the FRM is!")? As a very long term user of the forum, one of the first few I think, I doubt that I'll cut all ties, but I won't be around as regularly, or at particularly useful times for moderating purposes. I have contacted a few people who I think might like the role, but would like to see if anyone else might be interested before Admin and I pass the baton. Some details: - it's voluntary (but you get paid in feel-good factor, for having helped your local community) - generally it's not difficult, these days the family discussion room is a pretty calm place to be, so I very rarely have to intervene. Mainly it's about hiding spam and removing rule breaking posts - you need to have an open minded approach. Sometimes there will be discussions you disagree with. - it doesn't take long. If you're a person who quickly checks the forum over your morning coffee and again with your evening glass of wine/beer/tequila you can do the job. I had a 3rd baby during my 6 year stint and never felt I couldn't keep up with the moderating role. Personally, I've really enjoyed it. When I'm out and about I often hear people referring to the forum, I see groups of Mums and babies meeting up and smile knowing I set up a thread for them to use when they were first pregnant. It's a valuable local resource, and needs committed local people to help keep it a success. So, if you think this is something you would like to do, or want more information, please get in touch by sending me a PM. Family Room Moderator

Winter 2016 group?

Ask and you shall receive! I've set one up for you now, congratulations! -
Please be warned that "Samuella", who has registered today especially to post many times about her cleaner Teresa, shares an i.p. address with Teresa, who has been previously removed for posting fake recommendations. I would be very wary trusting someone who is willing to lie to get work with the keys to my home.

Recommending my cleaner (fake recommendation)
Family Room Moderator replied to Ludavis's topic in Request a Tradesperson
It's worth pointing out that the "member of staff just being lazy" is (in their words) responsible for "running all of the marketing, using twitter and Facebook" for Radiant Rooms. On this basis I find it difficult to believe that the false recommendations posted were a mistake. There were also posts by Jerraymond1 from the same IP address on many occasions over the weekend. -
Recommending my cleaner (fake recommendation)
Family Room Moderator replied to Ludavis's topic in Request a Tradesperson
Your recommendation was removed due to you having the same i.p address as the user "RadiantRooms". Over the weekend I removed a number of other posts by another user claiming to be a happy customer, who also just happened to have the same address. I would suggest anyone planning to use this company to be wary. -
Hi The discussion page has never been used for advertisements of any sort, nannies/childcare belong in the classified area. I moved your post, noticed the re-post and deleted it. I am a volunteer, as are all of the moderating team, so do this role as well as raising my family and working. I move/delete upwards of 50 posts a day, it's just not possible to message every single person.

Please be aware that cn150 is a "troll". He/she also posts as Bob Buzzard, purely for his/her entertainment, nothing being written bears any resemblance to real world events. Don't feed the troll!
