  1. There is also one for Ulverscroft Road.
  2. gromit3:16 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > The communinity is not coming together, Actually you are wrong. Some lovely people in my road have started a WhatsApp group for the road, and dropped in flyers to people in the road giving their mobile numbers and offering to get shopping, post letters, etc.. I know there are similar initiatives in Nunhead. I don't know about in East Dulwich. This has partly restored my faith in human nature. Good for them.

I can't do them because I'm not well. That's why I'm presently lying in bed all day. This is a section about local issues. Do you think it is acceptable for builders (and this is not the only one in this area) to have their radios blaring out at such high volume that I can hear it through acoustic glass? Some noises are unavoidable. That isn't. It's antisocial, in my view. By all means have the radio on outside if you really can't bear your own company. But please keep it at a reasonable level!

Good to see you pay such close attention to government advice about avoiding pubs then, especially as you are in a high risk group. Or are you joking?
  7. Probably my stupidity, but I have not been able to find any predictions as to how long this situation is likely to last. If anything reliable is available, of course. We had already cancelled/postponed our next two upcoming gigs, and will cancel the May ones, but I'm wondering for how long to "wait and see" for June or just to cancel/postpone them now. The Autumn ones can wait until we see how the situation is over the summer.

  9. People now being told to avoid all non essential contact with others. Breaking news.

Yes I had a delivery a few days back. There weren't all that many slots available but I had no trouble getting one with a delivery between 9 and 10 pm.

    Silence

In case it had escaped your notice, supermarkets deliver to your door :)) In any case, it has now been said that complete self isolation is not in fact what is being proposed.
  13. I was hoping they would finish work at four, but no, it's still pounding away through my acoustic double glazing :( It's finally stopped. They must finish at 4.30. Please God they don't come back tomorrow :(
  14. I am in bed feeling quite ill (nothing to do with coronavirus). Since quite early this morning a builder, apparently in Crystal Palace Road, has had a radio on that I can hear quite clearly through double glazing with acoustic glass in. I am not in a position to be able to do anything about it. If you know who this is, I'd be extremely grateful if you could ask them to turn it down :( I believe it is from a house which is having a loft extension done, in the part of the road which runs between North Cross Road and Whateley Road, about halfway down that section, and on the side of the road opposite to The Great Exhibition.

I could do, but avoiding having to do that and cart heavy items around (yes I have a shopping trolley) is the reason I do (or did) a few online shops a year, and just shop more frequently for perishables.

He doesn't say what will happen when in theory they could treat you but in practice they can't because they don't have sufficient resources, though.
  18. Also, according to the delivery guy, Tesco are looking at a customer's recent orders in deciding how much of something to let them have. So you can't beat the system by doing another order in a week or so. Understandable to stop real panic stockpiling, but bloody annoying if you are just trying to have your larder and freezer restocked to its usual max level prior to eating it and then doing another big shop in three or four months' time.
  19. whiteplumeria69 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I agree. It's starting getting crazy. They > should, indeed, put limits on number of items you > want to buy... They already are doing that. And not everyone who wants a number of the same item is panic buying. I do a big shop every three or four months, when I stock up on things like tins of beans (plain not baked beans), tomatoes, tissues. Unfortunately my first big shop since before Christmas coincided with Tesco's decision to limit the number of things I could buy. As I am presently not eating meat, fish or dairy, except very occasionally, this has been vastly inconvenient, given that my existing food stocks were run right down, hence the shop.
  20. Penguin68 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------ > > Surely if you are worried you can choose not to > go? It's not just a matter of choosing not to go if you are worried. It's a matter of those who are not worried and who do choose to go potentially spreading the virus to vulnerable others, either at the match or travelling to and from it. You can be infectious without knowing it, before symptoms develop.

The most community-minded thing > the club could do would be to cancel the match. I completely agree.

Nevertheless, if you let either the manufacturer or the place you bought it from know, they may be able to investigate and stop it happening again? ETA: It's very kind of you to go to such lengths to keep alive whatever is inside it ......
