  1. What, on a loop?
  2. YES! Jilted John! Bet you've never heard it done unaccompanied in four part harmony though :)) ETA: Sadly long before the days of YouTube but it was done by Cast Of Thousands in the seventies (?early eighties?) :))
  3. I'm really confused where we're talking about! Where the old airport used to be is now a hotel - I think? There used to be a huge green space on the other side of the Purley Way to the airport, just past the diving board which used to be part of an open air swimming pool and is now part of Wyevale Garden Centre. But I haven't driven beyond Wyevale for ages, so I don't know what's there now. And I used to live in Howden Road, off South Norwood Hill, near the lake at South Norwood, and I did think the area around that lake had been turned into a country park, though I haven't been back there for years? Can someone enlighten me as to exactly where we're talking about, and why it's called Norwood Country Park if it isn't in Norwood? :))
  4. There's No Business Like Show Business - Ethel Merman :))
  5. I'm very sorry if this thread has been lounged as a result either of my response to hellosailor's first post (still no explanation or apology forthcoming) or because of my inclusion of the Goose website address. Admin - I had to put the website address so that stew_hartley would know what I was offering.

If you have a fundraiser and you'd like tickets to www.thegooseisout.com as raffle prizes, please let me know :)
  7. Just for once maybe you could do the same :-S ETA: I was not intending to be mean, but it did seem a lot of expensive equipment not to be insured - and I did say I was not unsympathetic. ETA: Out of all my posts, please could you let me know which ones you perceive as "mean"? In a PM would do, thanks. ETA: Perhaps you could also let me know which ones you perceive as making the world a nicer place. You could even work out the percentage of each. Thanks. ETA: If you don't know how to find all my posts, you can do it by clicking on my name. I await your analysis with interest. :-$
  8. What brilliant news - but what a shame it missed the wedding.

Also had to wait hours for an X-Ray in December. ETA: I could have had the blood tests done at my GPs (DMC) but the receptionist said all the slots were fully booked for the whole week and she had never known it so busy for blood tests - I assume people have realised how long they will have to hang around if they go to Dulwich Hospital. I didn't want to wait a week so I went to the hospital even though I knew I would be there for ages.
  10. There's loads of these leaflets that come round, mostly it seems from profit-making organisations hoping that they will be perceived as charities. Better to take stuff directly to a charity shop, though more hassle of course.
  11. Please don't think I am unsympathetic, but was there any reason why you did not insure the equipment?
  12. Thanks. Just goes to show how inaccurate information can so quickly and easily be spread around :-S The downside of the internet I guess.

  14. I'm very happy with the Dulwich Medical Centre. I'm unwell at the moment and I had a very thorough consultation with one of the GPs there last Tuesday. ETA: I also had no trouble getting an appointment the same day.

  16. The SE5 forum has a calendar which can be linked to events posts. Don't know what software they use, though. http://www.se5forum.org/forum/ http://www.se5forum.org/about-camberwell/events-calendar.html http://www.se5forum.org/forum/index.php?board=5.0
  17. Isn't it more likely that the GP didn't want to use medical terminology which a patient might not understand?
  18. When I was at uni, our ladies footy team was called LUST - Ladies Uni Soccer Team :))

I haven't been for a few days... is it > still blue?! xxxxxx It was bright blue on Sunday afternoon, didn't see a note but the fountain was surrounded by kids so I could have missed it! Glad to hear it's temporary :))

  22. Please pass on the message to the Head Gardener that the garden (not sure what it's called, the one with all the perennials) is looking great, as are the beds with the grasses (Stipa tenuissima I think) outside it. But I would dearly like to know who thought bright blue water in the fountain was a good idea. Or has a mischievous person put something in? The same person who put the plastic duckling in the lake, perhaps! :) Edited to say: My guess is the nightshade is the Woody one.
  23. Penguin68 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > There is also a similar plant - Woody Nightshade - > it looks quite similar, with the same sort of > purple flowers and black berries but is more woody > xxxxxx I may be wrong but I believe Woody Nightshade berries are a different colour to Deadly Nightshade, not black.
