Hi My husband is from Burgess Hill in West Sussex and his parents still live there. We have talked about moving to Sussex in a few years time when our son finishes his education as we will need more space and you do get a lot more for your money than in South East London. We have discussed living in Haywards Heath and also Cuckfield which is a lovely village just outside of Haywards Heath. Haywards Heath would definitely be easier for my husband to commute from and has all the 'usual suspects' restaurant wise as well as some very good Schools.

Tykes Corner in SE17 is great for my 3 year old, they have activities such as painting as well as plenty of toys and equipment for children aged 0-4/5 to play with / on. There is also outdoor space for the children to run around and explore. Cost is ?1.50 per child and you can stay and play for as long as you like, open Monday-Friday 9.15-2.15 term time only.

Hi After a negative experience with the labour and delivery of my last baby, the Midwife Consultant at Kings College Hospital has suggested I go under the care of the Aylesham Midwives based in Peckham. I have not heard of this team before and wondered if anyone had any experience of them? Thank you Alison

Hi I am 19 weeks pregnant and your symptoms were exactly the same as mine when I went to an ante-natal appointment last week. I have just been given the results of my blood tests and my ferritin level is 5 !!! I asked the lady on the Maternity helpline what I should do and she has told me to ask my GP to prescribe Ferrous sulphate and I need to take 2 x 200mg a day. Reading what others have posted, I am also now aware this may be hard on my system so the spatone and floradix recommendations may come in useful for me too. I hope you are feeling better soon as it is awful to feel so rubbish.

I am definitely open to the idea of Fostering but we simply do not have the space in our house to do so. Perhaps when our own children leave home it would be possible - if they leave home !

Devsdev, I did not know that your partner could stay overnight with you at Kings, that sounds fantastic. Well as fantastic as can be giving that you / I would have just undergone a C section ! I have an appointment with the Midwife Consultant at Kings next month to discuss what has happened previously and what my options are after my Midwife at my Booking in appointment (at Midwives House) told me to make an appointment with them.

Devsdev I hope you don't mind me hijacking your post but like you I had a traumatic time giving birth to my last baby (I've had three and am expecting number four) and I just wanted to ask what the follow up care was like following a C section on the ante natal ward? I am contemplating a C section after over a year of treatment, repair surgery and physio etc and I just wonder what the pain relief given post c section is like? I have heard stories of women being left to wait for pain killers for hours and hope this is not true but knowing how busy Kings are, I wouldn't be surprised.

I am a Childminder and I do not know any of my Childminding colleagues who charge more than ?50 per day. Most Childminders I know take 4 or 5 weeks paid holiday but do not expect to be paid when they are sick. With regards to bank holidays I would charge for those that fall on a Monday if that was the day I would normally care for a child. I do not know of any Childminders who do not charge for bank holidays whether they care for a child one day a week or full time.

Just wondering if anyone appealed, and of they did if they had heard the outcome of their appeal as yet?

Thank you everyone. It's for use on children 12 months plus and I've spoken to a few friends who also recommended the Braun thermometer. I've ordered it on amazon and will see how I get on with it. If it's no good, your other suggestions may come in very handy.

I would ask if your son had been removed as a punishment or simply to try and avoid him biting a third child. I think if he had bitten one child and they had tried to reason with him why it was the wrong thing to do and he didn't have the ability / couldn't understand what they were saying and he continued to bite a second and a third child it makes sense for them to separate him from the other children as he may have gone on to bite a fourth or a fifth. From what I know, what they did sounds like common Behaviour management in a Nursery. I would also ask for the timings of the bitings as if for example the last time was just before you collected him it would make sense why he was still separated. Biting can be very emotive and I know one parent of a child who was bitten in daycare wanted the Childcare provider to pass on the contact details of the parents of the child who had bitten him as she was so angry!

We've been as a family several times and always book a Flat on 'Burlington Road' which is about a 15 minute walk into the centre of Town but ensures our children have enough peace and quiet of an evening to fall asleep as the Town is always busy of an evening with Holiday makers eating out etc. The Beach is a two minute walk from the Flat and the Flat's we stay in offer a Parking space which is great as parking can be a problem, at least it has been in our experience. Ally

I have noticed my daughter can experience nappy rash when she is teething hard, and other friends have said the same about their babies and toddlers. It does seem strange it only seems to happen when your daughter attends Nursery, and not when in your care though. Ally

Not sure if this is the right place to post, but I'm sure it will be moved if not :-) Just back from attending a Friday Whippersnappers session in SE1 and Penny who runs the session tells me there has not been much interest as yet in the classes held at The Lodge, Old College Gate, Dulwich Park. I'm looking to purchase a Buggypod to use with my Double buggy as I'm a Childminder who would prefer not to use a triple buggy (they all seem so bulky). However I've heard a couple of mixed review's and wanted to see if anyone else had any experience of using one before I bought one as they're not cheap and I don't want to make an expensive mistake.
