  1. Was planning to come on here to ask if anyone might know which celeb/royal came through Lordship Lane yesterday - was on my way up to Spurs, on bus at the roundabout by the EDT when some whistling police cyclists pulled the traffic to the side of the road to allow a biggish range rover to shoot past, on the way up towards Dog Kennel Hill. Could only make out two, maybe middle-aged, men in the front before it passed. Mildly hysterical lady on pavement was laughing/screeching with her friend that they were desperately trying to find out who it was. Had more reason to post after this lunchtime's experience. Had just got to bus stop opposite the M&S by the station when some mini cooper thing bombed through the traffic, swerving across to cut up another car to get up the hill, before two or three police cars followed about 20 seconds behind. Said mini cooper thing then reappeared coming the other way, beeping its horn to get other cars out the way before it bombed up what I think was Elsie Road, with police cars now on both sides of the road by Maxin trying to stop traffic getting in the way/half the speeding car. Bit more than I had bargained for when I set out/want in local area! Stay careful out there folks, this place is getting scarier...
  2. Ha cheers - will look into these!
  3. Have had a couple of foxes getting a bit too comfortable in our garden of late - digging up flower baskets, digging a hole under our fence and leaving a full sunflower, roots and all, dug up from next door in our garden and leaving little presents on our doorstep (and also, oddly, a water bottle). Anyone have any tips on how to get rid off them (humanely)? Sure I have seen similar threads on here in the past..
  4. Jamie, who used to have that barber shop at the bottom of Ryedale on Forest Hill Road, does home visits
  5. Tom is a legend, even though he supports Arsenal..
  6. we had a clear out of old CDs and videos a couple of weeks back - must have taken 100-150 CDs to St Christopher's on Lordship Lane - they said they would forward them on to the Penge store, which still sells them
  7. Ah cheers - hopefully contained to just Friern Road, looking at that map! 10 Feb completion date..
  8. Saw a yellow warning sign halfway down Friern Road when getting the P13 towards Lordship Lane this afternoon - something about diversions for 12 weeks from 5 November, but wasn't clear where exactly. Anyone know if this is new/where it might be perhaps?
  9. I did see somewhere saying (would have been either TFL or Citymapper) that the route was due to be disrupted until Wednesday, which would be a pain... Can't seem to find mention of it now, however
  10. All booking dates seem to have been taken off the Swift site now, for Tessa and Kings...
  11. If you have urgent tests they call you and get you to come into Kings - you don't need to book, its just walk in (and was a lot quieter than usual when I went in last week). Tessa Jowell are taking bookings from 2 July on Swiftqueue, when I checked a little while ago...
  12. How did you get on up there?
  13. Ha yes that was me in the Fantasy! Enjoy the Spurs experience tomorrow - I am a season ticket holder there but a fairly large chap so have tried to fine tune my trips there of late to involve less walking! I usually get the 185 to Vauxhall and then jump on the tube to seven sisters, then there are four diff buses (all ending in 9) that you can get from there straight to the ground, straight up the high road - although if you leave it too near kick off, they shut the road off (about two hours before) so you may have a bit of a walk (a lot do do the walk, but it is a good mile and a bit!). Would advise getting to seven sisters about three hours before ko if want to avoid the walk. Another option is get train to London Bridge and tube to Liverpool Street (or bus to liverpool street) then train straight to white hart lane. these will run right up to kick off but involve a bit more walking. https://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/news/2024/may/travel-information-for-fans-attending-the-investec-champions-cup-final/ this may help too
  14. Gutted to miss out on the title in the end and fall down to fourth at the last! Thanks for running it - took me a while to get to grips with the format but came on strong in final few months. Look forward to next season! JamesM
