  11. What a stadium! lovely warm weather as well, if a few Spurs fans had a bit too much to drink... Poor result but memorable day out... was in fourth row of away end, we could see small pockets of Spurs fans all over the Bernabeu - magic!
  12. Got taxi in the end, ?58 but fairly quick (was fearing worst given the accident there the day before).. Came back to Stansted at 3am, not wanting to shell out for a taxi again I got a coach to Victoria (4am to 5.10) then bussed to Elephant and ED, got through front door at 6.15 - yikes long day... lucky was off work wednesday...
  13. taxi for ?58 went for in the end... not too bad a price from what I've been hearing not a big fan of bedding down... fairly large gentlemen like meself tend to struggle sitting on airport seats, let alone sleeping in them.. and taking clothes with me would mean having to drag them all round madrid *Anna27 - yes, madrid v spurs here I come!

You could give it slightly longer but the 63 > is a fab bus route. Trust me, I've done it a > million times. Here here! The 63 is a great route (and not just because I've grown up with it..!).. I got it to Essex Road (near Islington) only yesterday, getting off at mount pleasant before cutting through... took me just over an hour and that was leaving at 8am, peckham roadworks et al...
  18. ses - just some jewellery and a camera... more worried that they know where everything is now and that they may come back.. We've had new bolts put on the windows now... Sorry to hear you got done as well, ad2000, some nasty people around.. Jimmyay - we have single sash windows, old style... and ultrauk - it was early evening we think, about six-ish, just after it got dark...
  19. So there's me idlelly reading this forum over the last year or so, lamenting the seeming increase in break-ins/burglaries/thefts in the area when I come home yesterday to find our house had been broken into (we back onto Camberwell Old Cemetery, just off Forest Hill Road). They forced open the windows downstairs and went through a couple of the upstairs rooms but only seem to have taken a camera and some jewellery... Some kind witness saw a person jump from the upstairs bedroom windown and flee into the night, reporting it to the police... Feels horrid that someone was in our house, going through our stuff, and now they know where everything is (computers, tv, etc) theres the fear they will come back... Just want to let you all know to keep on your guard...
  20. it was three in the morning so not sure he would have started his rounds that early... never know though!
