Indeed. Also, why do some people have chips with their full english (when there is already a hash brown or two on the (not square) plate - WTF? Whatever next? Jacket potatoes with chips? *goes to lie down in a darkened room*

don't make me laugh, this is supposed to be about RAGE ;-)
-
I don't have a watch so I have no idea what time it is Woof, sorry. ;-)
-
...and thats why we are on the irrational rage thread. Its a disgrace, I know. Bespoke breakfasts are just SO costly. Before we know it, hotels will start charging more for every extra minute on boiled eggs. tsk.

yeah you're right but.... me - can I have menu no6 please? Oh, without the sausages. In fact, could I have a tomato instead? greasy spoon bloke - no. If we changed the set menu for EVERY person that wanted it their own way, we'd have NO set menus. me *thinking...er, yeah* - ok, forget the set breakfast menu. can I have a bacon sandwich instead please? GSB - crusty baguette or plastic white sliced? ketchup or brown sauce? butter or without? bread toasted or not? me *weakly* - oh god...get me OUT of here.....

All this uncertainty... except if any of the people mentioned on this thread become PM, I think I'd want to leave too! The UK has enjoyed a lovely meal (dessert wine and chocs included) and the bill has now arrived. So living in these 'last days', we will all need to survive as best we can. I've got an air rifle and a fishing rod and luckily the mackerel season is upon us ;-)

(well, they were last week..) oh and no, I don't have square plates but I have pondered the question.....is it on a par with having that ghastly hexagonal glassware from the 80s? :O Disclaimer: I'm sure YOUR square plates are great. Especially if they're made of beautiful welsh slate. Now thinking my boring old round plates are a bit, you know, boring.

The 'full english' set breakfast menus in greasy spoon cafes. Out of all the ones on offer, there is never a single one that has everything you like (6) Who can be bothered arguing about swapping a hash brown for a tomato when you've got a hangover anyway?

I agree with you btw, perhaps more engagement with/or a different strategy towards the media would help get that message across to more? Dare I suggest that changing the name of the party could help? (although I realise this presents problems in itself, not forgetting how difficult and costly it would be). My election prediction did not foresee the good result for the Greens either!

Wow brum, the party is still going strong - lets have some

My predictions (not necessarily my wishes): a) Labour will scrape through. Blairite/Brownite all out feuding within the party. Conservatives will lose Cameron/Osborne for sure. (IMO I thought William Hague was good on Have I Got News For You, people have certainly warmed to him but he could never be Foreign Secretary). Libdems will be buoyed by the surge of interest. b) Hung parliament. Labour and Libdems. Nothing changes. Election soon after. c) In any event, the Greens will need to work harder to ensure that they reach all parts of the electorate and don't preach to the converted. They will need to demonstrate that they have policies to deal with those issues that aren't just environmental (economy, health and so on). I do agree with you Loz that if Labour had sense they'd ask Clegg to be leader in a hung parliament but that won't happen.

The structure is called a 'cofferdam' (made of concrete and steel) - its only a short-term solution to help contain the leak from the well. Tens of thousands of gallons of crude oil a day has already been lost from the damaged well, not to mention the resulting damage to sealife and loss of livelihood along the coastline. This incident will likely affect other companies around the globe who are drilling or have plans to drill in ultra deep waters.

Old bean - not at all, in fact..... "Dearest Esme", as my Great Uncle, the Duke of Dunstable once said " It is a good rule in life never to apologise. The right sort of people do not want apologies, and the wrong sort take a mean advantage of them." Toodle pip Es...er, I mean, you know....;-) Yours, KVDP (Mrs)

KD, if you typed out a conversation - verbatim - of any group of people on an average night at the pub it would look pretty much like they all disagreed, scoffed at each other, joked, got annoyed, concurred, challenged opinions, became friends again etc - not unlike an online forum. Haven't you noticed how helpful the forum has been to people over the last few years that you watched it too? PS. I am a 'real' person living in East Dulwich and I have met other 'real' people who live here via this forum.

They are drilling a relief well to intersect the main well - it will take a few months to complete. Sub-surface dispersants are being used to break up the oil before it reaches the surface - so far with success.
