Looks great - is there parking around there do you Know? -
We LOVED dairyworld - attended with a 4 year old, 2 year old, 5 year old, six year old and nine year old. All really enjoyed it and we had good fun too!

The new model toyota verso is brilliant - more boot space then an estate, can be 7 seats and is really comfy. We chose this over an estate and are so pleased with it

My son does ballet at nursery and really loves it! They have an ex professional ballerina at the nursery so she teaches them all once a week. It is the highlight of his week. He is turning 4 soon and although his dad initially said that "ballet stays at nursery" I think even he realises how much he will miss it when he starts school. He is going to go to horniman school in September and will hopefully continue lessons there. Good luck with it. P.S. He loves football just as much

Hi there, I run a weight management clinic with a dietitian and my big advice would be to eat more wholegrain, low GI foods that keep you full for longer, and do lots of exercise!! Liz's powerpramming is great and just get out there and walk lots!! I have 2 small ones but make sure I have time to get out for a jog once a week with some other mums and also do some pilates. I really can't stress the importance of diet and exercise together!! Good luck and get out there in this sunshine!!

Any Nunhead folk starting at the Horniman school this year?
sharls replied to Zo?'s topic in The Family Room Discussion
Hi there, We are quite away away from the school as well - Henslowe Rd but are thrilled to get Horniman (did you hear that the early years just got outstanding in the ofsted report!) If you fancy a play date sometime then there are a few of us that are catching up a couple of times before September - if you look for Horniman thread you should find Becca's post - we aren't around for the first one but will hopefully do one at mine soon after. Stay in touch and maybe see you then. Sharls -
Brilliant - can't wait to show my husband!!

18 months - is it too early to start potty training a boy?
sharls replied to Ole's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Hi - I would go with your child but dont push it. My first boy was nearly 3 and my second just over 2 and insisting on taking his nappy off and going on the potty. -
Hi there, My son Harry has a place starting at Horniman in September. We would love to be included in plans to meet over the summer. Let me know if I can help Sharls

Hi there to all the people who posted with information for me about Goodrich School. I went on the visit today and was really impressed with the school, the facilities and how happy all the children were. Thanks for all your messages.

Step up stool and potty - recommendations?
sharls replied to amydown's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I would go with a baby bjorn potty every time for boys - only one that seems comfy and boys can sit far enough back to tuck it in. We also opted for the whole change toilet seat with integrated toddler seat as we have 2 tiny boys - brilliant! -
Hi there, Thanks so much for that. We are going to visit on the 9th May. i really appreciate your feedback. Sharls

Primary School Allocations-do you need some Assistance?
sharls replied to Renata Hamvas's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Hi Renata, Could you tell me what happens if we defer our place at goodrich. My son will be 5 on the 1st August 2012 so legally we could keep him out until then. Would he still go into reception or would he join the 1st year with the children that go this September? Thanks -
Please can anyone tell me their views on Goodrich School. My child who will be just 4 in September has just been offered a place. We wanted Heber and I am not sure whether to go on the waiting list rather than send him to Goodrich. I haven't heard any good reports about Goodrich recently and it is so big! Please let me know some views. Thanks

Yet Another Crash on Barry Road - Underhill Road Junction
sharls replied to trentk69's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
James, I will be most interested in the outcome of your meeting mid-November. Is there anything that the rest of us non-commitee members can do to help? Petitions? Letters? I really am desperate to get something sorted for this junction. As previously mentioned I have to use this road daily (crossing over from Henslowe Rd end) and fear for the safety of my 2 babies and myself after the terrible incident that I was involved in 3 weeks ago. Please let me know. -
Yet Another Crash on Barry Road - Underhill Road Junction
sharls replied to trentk69's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
DJKQ - The case is still in process but I think that will be the decision in the end. So much paper work and the other threatening behaviour to take into account too. I know what you are saying about this maybe being a poor decision with this present incident, but it does not change the fact that something must be done to improve the position for cars trying to cross Barry Rd from Underhill Rd. I really do feel so nervous now as my encounter was such a close call, and there was no way I could have seen that speeding BMW. Unfortunately I think there is going to have to be a fatality before anything is done about it. -
Yet Another Crash on Barry Road - Underhill Road Junction

I could not believe my eyes to see yet another crash at this junction. I was involved in the accident 3 weeks a go at this junction and I still feel sick crossing this road which I have to do daily. I am in the process of now buying a new car with 5 star crash rating etc as I do not feel it will be long before another maniac comes tearing down the road. Please can we all get onto the council to do something about this junction!!!!! -
I agree that sight lines from the junction would be a good start but agree with Nicholas that some sort of traffic calmimg needs to happen too. Barry Rd is just too long and straight with no obstacles (other than cars trying to cross) so is too irresistible to some drivers who have no qualms about racing their cars down the road. The 4 accidents I know about were all caused by excessive speed along the piece of road coming up to the junction with Underhill Rd.

Hi there, I am certainly not going to be interrogated by anyone on this site as to whether I was in the right or wrong. That is for the police to do. The driver of the BMW had just threatened a bus driver at the top of Barry road with a bottle before tearing down the road!I don't usually use this forum as I don't have alot of time with 2 babies and work but felt compelled to let people know that i feel so strongly about something being done to slow down the drivers that DO come tearing down that road. Thank you Nicholas for checking that I was OK. I am determined to do something via the council and our local MP and would appreciate it if anyone who feels strongly about this would let me know. As UnderhillOliver said it is only a matter of time before someone is killed!
