  1. Can someone help with this please or recommend someone who can? I'm looking for someone to remove the toilet pan, investigate the leak (possibly waste outlet), repair, and put pan back, making good the mastic etc. Thank you.
  2. I found Aston through this forum and very pleased I did. He's just replaced two blinds which now work like a dream. Good communication, knowledgeable and did a great job. Highly recommend and I'll definitely use him again. Aston's number is: 07490 947355
  3. Hi, Can anyone recommend a carpenter/builder who has experience of reinforcing floor joists? We are looking to put a soundproof voiceover booth in a bedroom on the 2nd floor of a 1960s townhouse. The booth with a person in it will weight 470kgms. The booth is a diamond shape, so we need a quote for just a corner section of the room. Many thanks
  4. Keith and his son have just completed repairs to my garden wall - replaced bricks, facing and sealed. A great job done. Friendly, cleaned up afterwards and finished on time. I couldn't have asked for a better job.
  5. This is a bit of an ask. I live in West Dulwich and myself and my husband are self isolating as we suspect we have both got the virus - we're one week into our two week isolation. We have had a water leak into our porch for over a week now and the leak is getting worse. This afternoon one of the fuses in the fuse box blew and I worry that water has got into our electrics. Is there a plumber/builder who has had the virus who would be prepared to come round and do a track and trace? Any help/advice would be really appreciated as I'm worried that the leak could turn into an emergency.
  6. One more to throw into the pot: The Pontefract Castle in the Cellar Bar - St Christopher's Place/Wigmore Street. I've booked here before, choose your own music, no venue hire, no minimum spend, candle lit, comfy sofas, reasonably priced drinks and food. Good luck!

  8. So are BT. I've been a life long user of BT thinking they would improve. When I tried to move my BT a month ago to my new address they cancelled my order with no explanation, and no apology - first available date for the engineer scheduled for March (that was bad enough), then I was told it would be April. I was told I would have to put up with it or go elsewhere. So Virgin Media it is - it's being installed next week!
  9. I lived in Sunbury on Thames in the 70's & my father kept and bred these Green Parakeets along with other types of birds. Yes they are very noisy, that's why he let them go!
  10. Steve I agree with Clare... hang in there It's all new to me too having just moved around here after 26 years in North London (no booing please!) but it's good for finding out what's going on and has been really helpful in finding somewhere to live. oh, and saw Emily Joyce in Sainsburys - she is one of those intriguing natural beauties... well I think so (google comes in handy at this point!)
