  1. Crowd-funding request! I'm an East Dulwich resident who has made a game for the iPhone which responds to music. That's right, you can play whatever music you like and the game will change accordingly. So you can play a game which changes to suit the music that suits your mood. This project is currently seeking support on the crowd-funding site, Kickstarter. You can check it out here: www.bit.ly/freqtrigger I'd very much appreciate it if residents would sponsor this project. Music is the game-changer - and you can say you helped make it happen! I'm not sure if I'm posting this is the correct section, I did message the Administrator to see what they'd prefer but I haven't yet received a response and I'm running out of time. The project ends on Kickstarter on Dec 28. So please show your support to a local entrepreneur who seeks to change the face of gaming by making a series of games across all manner of genres and platforms - all of which respond to music! So no matter what sort of game you like playing, they'll be a Freq. game you'll love. Sponsor us now at www.bit.ly/freqtrigger Note: I didn't post in the local business section, because it's not really a business (yet) nor do I have a trading address per se. I work from home out of a small office which doubles as my daughter's toy storage room. Hence I'm surrounded by lots of garish plastic objects. It's also very cold in here! Make our xmas, support Freq. on Kickstarter! Show the world that the next big thing in gaming emerged out of East Dulwich by direct support of the East Dulwichites! Thanks for reading! :-)
  2. Well a lot of these replies have certainly brought a smile to my face. And a few people have definitely fallen into the category of 'the first ones up against the wall when the revolution comes'. Those with a sense of humour I applaud you. Everyone else: I pray for your abductions. I was going to say I'd pay for your abductions, but quite honestly I'll just let the natural selection of ignoring the mini-roundabouts on Wood Vale, and your driving habits in general, work its magic. :-)
  3. Its horrible to hear of muggings. I wish everyone who has been mugged a speedy recovery from the trauma.
  4. Well that told me didn't it! :-) Okay, so its 30mph. Fine. But people still pay little attention to the roundabouts. When my car is on its last legs I intend to smash into someone driving illegally on one of those roundabouts! I'll have a lot of fun doing so too! :-)
  5. Seriously though... any tennis courts available for playing after 7pm?
  6. Maybe this was merely a useful tactic to dissuade people from playing, thus freeing up the courts. In that vein: DON'T PLAY IN ANY COURTS AROUND E.D! ROAMING BANDS OF SPECTRAL NINJAS COME ALONG AND MISALIGN YOUR CHAKRAS! Play somewhere else!
  7. I would second Dulwich village pre school. I had to move my daughter from buds after experiencing quite a few problems. apparently they have now improved a great deal though and i have other friends with children very happy there. I can only go from my experience though that my child was much happier when moved. Any questions feel free to PM me.
  8. Okay, so despite my several prior light=hearted posts, this one is quite serious. I live on Wood Vale, and I always drive along it at the 20mph speed limit. Virtually no other car does. Also, the two turnings along Wood Vale, Melford Road and Langton Rise are both mini-roundabouts - thus one should give way to the right. The number of people that overtake me going well over 30mph! is astonishing. Moreover, this frequently occurs at one of the mini roundabouts which is seriously dangerous! I pray that one of these irresponsible drivers will crash one of these days, and I'll laugh hysterically when they do, and not call an ambulance. O yes, just to vent my spleen still further, I'm going to start taking photographs of dangerous drivers along Wood Vale, my daughter plays on this road, it should be safe. Over taking at a roundabout in excess of 30mph is not. Have a nice day! :-)
  9. My partner and I are planning to call our daughter Harper (due May 23). We both really love the name. Heard a story recently of someone giving their son the middle name of Danger. Purely so when they grow up they can say: "Danger is my middle name". Hilarious. I want to give my daughter the middle name of X. Just X. Harper X I think is great. I think she may grow up with superpowers with a name like Harper X. Don't think my other half will let me get away with it though. But yes, Harper is a good name.
  10. @kidkruger lol spot on. So many 'daily mail reader' types attempting to impose their draconian values on others. Look out! They're probably doing drugs in that van. Or filming pornography! Some people here are making that age old mistake of raising their beliefs to the status of truths where in fact they are just opinions. The only, the only real issue here is the potential of being disturbed by an engine running all night. Seems to be a lot of high horses people need to get off in ED. Ho hum.
  11. @JessEloise, Alas, not to my knowledge. I'm glad someone else finds it weird and creepy. It freaked me out back then, and I still get a little shiver when I think about it now.

    @bob - hilarious! :D
  13. Okay this isn't paranormal, just weird. When I was about 10 maybe a little younger, my family and I went to stay with some family friends up north somewhere, I forget where. These friends had just moved into a huge old house, which they were having some work done on. I loved exploring that old house. One day I was running around the outside of the house, playing with some other children. Along one side the house was virtually overgrown with ivy and tall bushes which I crept into to hide. I remember the wall feeling very cold and I looked up and saw a tiny window, far too high to reach, all grimy and dirty, set high up on the wall, hidden from view by the tall bushes and foliage growing up that side of the house. Anyway, running in and out and around the house I pretty quickly got used to all the nooks and crannies of the place, and loved it. But something nagged me about this little window you couldn't see from the outside. And then I realised you couldn't see it from the inside either. I had crawled all over that old house and never got to a place inside which corresponded with that tiny window. I mentioned it one morning and none of the owners of the house had seen it. I took them behind the bushes and pointed up at the tiny window, and they traced the wall around and we came to the kitchen. They determined that there must be some kind of hidden chamber behind the kitchen wall. Now they planned to completely redesign the kitchen anyway. And the owner of the house decided he would use a sledgehammer to break through the rear wall of the kitchen, where he thought this chamber might be, and open it up. I remember watching excitedly as he set about smashing into the rear wall of the kitchen with a massive hammer. It took some time but after awhile he'd dislodged several bricks and began pulling them out until a reasonable hole had been made. We then peered in with a torch and saw this chamber. It was about twice the height of the kitchen, and comprised of an odd arrangement of walls at funny angles. More of a weird shaft than a room. High up on the outside wall was the tiny window, all grimy and dusty. But strangest of all was the fact that right in the middle of the floor of the chamber, was a tiny wooden, child's chair.
