  1. Thank you singalto, we do keep him in at night.id hate to think of him becoming a victim of this awful killer.
  2. Hi, This is our cat! He's not lost, we live near you. He has only been allowed out for a couple of months. He seems to have gotten a name for himself for begging people for food!! We've seen him at the windows of neighbours houses, meowing like he hasn't been fed for a week! He is well fed though and has a cat flap so he can get his food all day. He's only young and very friendly. He isn't big enough for a collar yet but he is microchipped. Send him on his way if he is being a pain!
  3. he's made the daily fail!! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2510672/Find-Mr-Rabbit-Thousands-join-hunt-year-old-girls-best-friend-online-rallying-cry.html I hope they find him x
  4. We haven't tried her with books or anything yet (daren't!!) but my niece, who also gets sick and takes tablets can watch videos with no problems. We found that as our daughter got a bit older she has got a bit better so we can now do local journeys with no problems 99% of the time so we only give her a tablet when we are going on a longer trip e.g. to Ikea. Also, the tablets last for 6-8 hours so she only needs 1 per day. We also have the window down so she has plenty of fresh air - she has a blanket for if she feels cold.
  5. We have used Joyrides or Kwells kids since my daughter was about 2. She started getting sick when she changed from rear facing to forward facing in her car seat. We started with half a tablet and they really helped. She was inconsistent too, sometimes being sick on a 10 min journey and other times doing a 6 hour drive no problem. Now she is a bit older (4) she is happy to have her old potette travel potty on standby and use that if she feels sick so there is much less mess and cleaning up to be done. The potette is great as you can bag up the sick and store it until it can be binned and meanwhile just pop in another bag so it is ready to go again. Really though, it was the pills that made a massive difference. The drug in then is called hyosine or hycosine or something if you need to look for another brand. It has been used in babies as young as a year for sickness treatment so is ok at a slightly younger age than recommended on the packet
  6. sun all the way - hang them out and leave them there or put them on a sunny windowsill - this takes longer but still works
  7. Oh no number 2! It's so frustrating isn't it? I don't know where all these extra children are coming from - if we believe the admissions team that means a massive number of families are moving house in this last couple of weeks - or getting statements for SEN, which just doesn't add up to me! The bit I don't understand is why is there suddenly so much movement in the last couple of weeks. From what I've heard about appeals it is extremely rare for them to be won as the only reason you win is if you get an SEN statement or your distance between home and school has been incorrectly calculated.
  8. Tell me about it!! We were first last week and I genuinely thought we'd get a place soon but when I called again today I was told we're now 7th. I just don't get where all the new people are coming from! I'd have thought that everyone who was a late applicant etc would have applied by now and I find it hard to believe that 6 kids have suddenly got a statement or moved into foster placements in the area in the space of just over a week :-/ I'm not sure what is going on with Goodrich's list as we are pretty static on the other lists we're on although no hope of getting into those schools as we're a long way down their lists.
  9. Yes the lists are still with Southwark. I called them today and found out our latest positions. Not good news for us, we've moved down the list 7 places in a week and a bit. I don't get it. I expected places at this point to change by one or 2 positions but for 7 children to have moved into the area/got an SEN statement or whatever in a week seems very odd to me!!
  10. I've lost faith in the system somewhat. I am in a much better position on the waiting lists than you Gina, even though we live close (I'm near the Grove Tavern too) but we just seem to be up and down the lists like a yo-yo. I wonder why we are still moving down, surely all the late entries are in by now and people have got themselves on extra waiting lists by now but we still move down the list 3 or 4 places and then back up again, then down.... Last week I rang Southwark and was told that the waiting lists had gone to schools so to contact the school directly. I rang Goodrich but they never called me back. I rang Southwark again today and they never called me back either. The letter we got stated that waiting lists only went to schools on 31st August so I'm not sure what to think really!
  11. Number 2, I got the automated response then nothing after that. When I rang I must have got the good woman, she just asked name and DOB then gave me the answer straight away. I lost faith in the email thing when I'd had good info from one lady (Anita) and then one day I replied to a message she'd sent me earlier and got someone else who said "no change in your waiting list positions". I was fine with this once but when it happened again and I knew that others had changed positions I didn't believe it so tried phoning.
  12. I don't know what is going on with these waiting lists!! I rang today about the Goodrich waiting list after seeing ryekids post as we were originally 1st on the list then we dropped to 5th when I checked last week so I was wondering if we were back at 1st (ryekids went 2nd, 6th, 2nd). We are now 4th so we've moved 1 place in the right direction from last week but seeing all these posts it doesn't add up. Gina, we also got no response to emails suddenly either so I tried calling and they were happy to give me the info over the phone.
  13. We were there today as well. It is a shame that they are getting rid of the play area. Seems a bit stupid as like you say it is so popular with families and has a bit of a unique selling point with the play area. I can't think of an other pub in the area with such a big garden and great (safe) play area for the kids. I wonder how many families will be put off going there if there is no play area for the kids. It was so lovely to be able to sit in the sun with a beer while the kids were happy and entertained. There are plenty of other pubs with nice gardens that are more adult friendly if you don't want kids playing around.
  14. could he watch a few episodes of Get well soon on cbeebies? Dr Ranj is great!
