  1. well not the allotmemts as such (the ones the other side of the South Circular from the Village up the hill that is) ....... rather leaving your stuff unattended on them. my friend left a few things in a bag by the side of her allotment while working on it today (err that is technically yesterday now) and the bag was nicked. This included her car keys and loh and behold she had to walk home on account of the tea leaves helping themselves to her car. Apparently it happened to someone else there late last week.
  2. My personal fave was the A to Z of East Dulwich - I gave it away as a present to someone who moved away and could never find another copy - can't remeber if Mr B wrote that but if anyone has a spare copy out there I would gladly take off their hands
  3. Jacks shut - there's a surprise - I'll be checking out Tea and Chandeliers in the forseeable........
  4. The Omrith is a pretty good place for a curry and a beer - as long as you don't look through the window at the kitchen when you go to the loo. The FHT and Herne are now well improved IMHO. I like the garden of the FHT when it is sunny - food seems OK - looks like it would be good for sports in the evening - that being said last Saturday I went up the Mag to watch the rugby even though I am alot nearer the FHT. I would like to hear more views on Anatolia - I have never been in there and it seems to me neither has anyone else as it is always empty when I go past - yes the Italian place seems OK but needs to wear in a bit - maybe with the Manhattan Loft Company doing something with that old church things will continue to look up on that stretch
  5. I used to live very near there before moving to SE22 so hope they continue to make that little area interesting and thriving. The only little minor criticism I have of their website is that they spell neighbour wrong - err right if you are American that is (neighgbor)- well they spell it that way 3 times in their opening line. Their About Us page does identify them as Londoners and big-city dwellers - which of course includes Americans and people with dodgey spelling - so I suppose they're entitled to spell as they want - just seems a bit odd - as does the fact that I am even posting about spelling mistakes on a website
  6. Thanks boosboss appreciate the info - we live very near so await with much interest the opening - I will send Mrs Tips on a reccy this week to shanghai any one in the vicinity who seems vaguely involved to provide more info - keep us updated if you can
  7. What's the update on the cafe? Boosboss you seem particularly well informed can you update? Do we know who is going to run it finally? I was driving past today and the shutters were up and a door open and by the time I could gather myself to have a nosey round and hopefully ask someone what was happening the shutters were down. Mrs Tips is keen to know as another option to take the wee'un and rendezvous with mum chums.
  8. DPG - now that's an over-priced experience if ever there was one - I would be very interested to know about plans for who is going to run the PRPC and agree with some of above about site - I suppose how they screen and landscape around is the key - if indeed there is a plan to do any such work - does anyone know??
  9. Great - if the bloke from Jacks is running it we can rely on it closing early on Saturdays when the 6th formers work experience has finished, not being open on Sundays, closed for weekends in August and of course being open during the week when most of us have to work for a living. That being said Jack's is great when its open and if the new place approximates this it'll beat Dulwich Park Cafe hands down
