  1. Battersea zoo was asking for towel donations for the animals this week
  2. It wasn’t claimed but has been rehomed and taken to the vet for a proper MOT - i got sent a photo of it looking immediately much happier and right at home - they think was probably abandoned, poor thingp
  3. Sorry Bob, realised there is a lost and found thread on this site! I now understand 😂
  4. Skinny but friendly young tabby cat found near dovercourt road - anyone recognise ? unchipped unfortunately
  5. Found looking a bit worse for wear near Dovercourt Road - sadly not chipped but very friendly so assume must have been owned by someone. Looks to be young, 1-2 years old ? Any one recognise?
  6. So sorry to hear this - I hope his family read this and know how loved he was by all. His friendly ?good mornings? always made our day. Thank you Len for being a cherished part of our son?s childhood, he will miss his ?lollypop dude? x
  7. If they are struggling to make deliveries because of staff shortage then they should not be taking people?s money and falsely representing that their property is safe and will be delivered as promised. Surely it can?t be brushed aside as ?one of those things?.
  8. Thanks James for raising this. My mum has had to step sending gifts to her grand children as the parcels never arrive. She was particularly upset that the last gift for my kids, sent a couple of months ago, never made it. What is even more infuriating is that there seems to be no recourse. What other business would be able to deliver such shocking service, losing valuable property placed in its charge, with zero apology or accountability !?
  9. There are police stationed on the south circular every day doing ANPR checks and pulling people over. The guidance is not to leave your local area for exercise so it?s likely you would be stopped if spotted.
  10. Do you genuinely think people are leaving their house just to go look at how busy the market is so they can complain about it? Come on! I absolutely love that market and fully support all the local businesses that make this area such a special one. I can?t think of anything more sad than it needing to shut- oh yes I can, people starving of oxygen and dying alone without their family around them because we all fancied a hog roast and a chat... No one is denying the horrendous impact this pandemic and the restrictions are having on so many different people in so many different ways. The economic and mental health impact is just awful and I agree that it?s hit certain groups much harder. I think everyone can understand the desire to find ways around the rules and seek out social contact and of course the need for vendors to keep working and making a living. The struggle is that the more we are complacent/make exceptions and don?t comply, the more people will get sick, the more likely the NHS falls over entirely and the longer we all have to live with our lives restricted.
  11. I must say I?m inclined to agree re: whether this sort of thing should really fall under the ?essential? bracket. I saw a group stood eating falafel wraps chatting wondering if that really could be classed as essential food? It makes me sad that we even need to be trying to convince younger people that covid could affect them too; why can?t it be enough that their actions could indirectly lead to a horrible and lonely death for someone older or more vulnerable? There seems to be a disconnect between ones individual actions and the wider impact - everyone thinks it?s someone else?s problem. I don?t care that I?m unlikely to get very ill, I just couldn?t live with myself if I knew my behaviour had contributed to another person?s untimely death. Even if one does believe that food stalls fall safely within the permitted parameters, it still needs to be accessed safely and there is no way this is the case with the market as it stands. Obviously we all want to return to normal life ASAP and want small businesses to survive, I love the NCR market, but the longer we are complacent the longer this all takes and the more people and families suffer
  12. Food and drink may be classed as ?essential? but i am very surprised Southwark allowed it to go ahead. Obviously I can entirely understand the instinct of the vendors to want to keep going with their small businesses but it did not look in keeping with the spirit of lockdown at all, lots of people maskless and in close proximity to one another. In an area where 1 in 20 are estimated to have covid, it did seem irresponsible. But then probably no different to how busy the rest of Lordship Lane was today. I Was really surprised to see it open though!
  13. Annoyingly I paid by PayPal and for some reason they won?t provide a refund.
  14. Thank you so much for your reply and suggestion. I have been in contact with their central customer care but they seem to pass enquiries immediately over to the franchise to deal with rather than have a central department which isn?t very helpful if you then want to complain about the franchise itself. The customer service person for the franchise did initially reply to say they were sorry and would refund me immediately but then didn?t do it; and is now ignoring me... All very odd. I?ve never had an experience like it. Despite it costing ?30 to issue a small claim, I?m minded to do so just out of principle.
