  1. Hello, Can any one recommend somewhere to remove a wart from a child's hand? We've been to dulwich podiatry to try the freezing method but their appointments are so rare it's impossible to book as necessary. At this stage I'm open to anything and am starting to wonder if a dermatologist might be able to fix it more quickly. Any recommendations gratefully recieved! Thanks

Do they have the kids for set times/ tasks etc. What are you finding works/ doesn't work. Any tips appreciated. Feel free to DM if easier. Much appreciated!

  11. Hello, Has anyone used an ad-hoc nanny agency? I've used likeminders and sitters but find the range of nannies and that fact we have never had the same nanny twice less than ideal. I have used another agency where I have the same few people but they are very expensive and not always available. Are there any agencies like that near us? I'd love to hear your experience. Thanks

  13. There is a day of action on 25th February that local parents are involved with and if anyone wants to fill out the consultation I can link you to a great site that helps you fill it in in 10 minutes. So vital that parents are heard. It's our only chance of forcing them to find a better way of supporting schools without taking from others that also so desperatly need the funding. http://www.standard.co.uk/news/politics/london-schools-to-have-budgets-slashed-in-disastrous-funding-change-a3463471.html
  14. Hello, I am a parent at Edmund Waller School and a group of us are trying to get a better understanding of how cuts to school funding will affect our schools. We are wondering if any local parents know how this will impact their school? Some schools in North London are being asked for voluntary contributions to support their school and it seems a 4 day week is on the cards for some schools in Cheshire grappling with budget cuts. As the extent of the school cuts becomes clearer it's getting better coverage in the press and the Fair Funding For Schools Campaign is picking up pace. Here is an article about the impact on London schools. https://www.theguardian.com/education/2017/jan/27/london-boroughs-bigger-classes-fewer-teachers-schools?CMP=share_btn_tw If you have any information about the impact on your school or would like to see how you can get involved please get in touch. The Fair Funding For Schools Campaign are planning a National day of action planned for 25th February and we are hoping to mobilise some South London parents to support it. Here is an online petition to sign and share in the meantime if you can: https://www.change.org/p/rt-hon-justine-greening-mp-fair-funding-for-all-schools Here are some official details about The Financial Sustainability of Schools inquiry: https://www.parliament.uk/business/committees/committees-a-z/commons-select/public-accounts-committee/inquiries/parliament-2015/financial-sustainability-schools-16-17/ Thanks
  15. I went to the Fair Funding for All Schools campaign launch last night. There must have been over 150 parents at a primary school in North London, with standing room only at the back. It was an incredible turn out. As well as the campaign organisers Kevin Courtney, General Secretary of the NUT and Catherine West MP were there. This is a very real issue and one that we will really begin to feel in South London over the next couple of years. The overwhelming message at the meeting last night was that Parent Power has the most chance of affecting change if we make our voice heard. There are a lot of disgruntled MP's who are also losing out to this and we need to make sure we put enough continuous pressure on them in as many ways as possible so they can take our message to the top. Our kids only have one go at getting an education. Let's make sure they get a fair go. The campaign have launched a new and vital petition. Please sign it here and share throughout your schools urgently: https://www.change.org/p/rt-hon-justine-greening-mp-fair-funding-for-all-schools

  17. Hi Everyone, My daughter goes to Edmund Waller Primary School and a group of parents are considering what the options may be for taking some form of action against the recently announced school cuts. Edmund Waller is set to lose ?233,027 over the next 2 years and other local schools will have huge cuts as well. You can see how it affects your school and sign the petition here: http://www.schoolcuts.org.uk/#/ There is a good article about it here: https://www.theguardian.com/education/school-funding In the light of this I wondered if any other schools were taking any kind of action. Would be great to have some joined up thinking on this. Please share any knowledge you have. Thank you!
  18. We ended up there by accident as there were no barriers and we'd been swimming, after which the kids just ran in. I think it was before they were officially open because there was no-one supervising. I lost my 2 year old on the upper decks before I realised there were a load of 15 year olds rampaging around, even in the toddler area. I had to physically climb up the thing to find her as she was being pushed aside by the others. I had 2 other kids with me as well and it was terrifying. Even the other day we looked in and the toddler bit was full of older kids. Plus, as you say there is no way to see what is going on in the upper levels. I complained to reception at the time who I think sent someone over there but didn't seem too phased. I also wrote a formal complaint but have not heard back from them. Just seems incredibly dangerous and poorly managed. Not to mention cold! Rant over.
  19. Back to school for the kids already tomorrow & I'm now looking at Summer Holidays! Just wondered if anyone had any recommendations for places in Europe that are great for kids. Mine will be 3 and 5. We've looked at Eurocamps which seem fine but up for a bit more rustic/ adventurous but still with things to do for kids. Will be 4 adults and 4 kids so holiday villas etc also an option. Would love to hear hear what you have loved! Thanks
  20. Hello, I'm looking for a roofer to give a quote for somewhere in Ivydale Road. There is a company that does a lot of work there called KLP or similar and I wondered if anyone knew who they are, or has other suggestions? It's quite urgent so hoping to get a quote in the next day or so. Many thanks!
  21. Hi, I urgently need someone to come and replace a seal on a washing machine this afternoon if possible. Please give me a call on 07791 765 456 if you can do it or PM me any recommendations. Much appreciated. Many thanks.
  22. Hi there, We are possibly looking for an Au Pair for a minimum of 5 months to look after our 2 girls, 1 and 3 and just wondered if anyone had any experience of having an Au Pair. My 3 year old is quite full on and needs someone who is quite assertive especially as for the last 4 months it will be mainly supper, bed and bath they will need to do. I'm worried that an Au Pair may be a bit young for this kind of work and am not sure if sole care of a 1 and 3 year old is appropriate or fair to any of the parties! Interested to hear your experiences good and bad. Many thanks!
  23. Thanks everyone, much appreciated, we finally decided to brave the elements at Featherdown Farms!
  24. I have a nutri bullet and have used it nearly every day for the past year. Comes with a great recipe book for healthy juices, is super easy to clean and does a good line in purees and soups if you have young kids! By far and away beat kitchen gadget I have!
