  1. I would thoroughly recommend Gary. We left messages for other plumbers mentioned on this forum but only Gary replied. Our power shower had packed up and Gary dealt with it in a professional and methodical way. He investigated possible causes, telephoned manufacturer and once realising that the pump was beyond repair replaced the item with one to our spec. His charges were very reasonable and discussed at each stage and although he spent some time sourcing and obtaining the correct pump he only charged us for time on site. He left the job clean and tidy with the reassurance that if we were to need him for anything else he would "be right round". Its not often that you can say that it was a pleasure to have a workmen come to your home, but on this occasion it was.
  2. Just a note about overpriced clothing in the Mind Shop. Pricing of hundreds of items are done by volunteers based on the quality of the garment.Sometimes we get it wrong but we definitely do not "take the pxxx". An example of this was a "wavy" wall mirror being brought in around 10 years ago and everyone liked it and thought it was worth &9.99 of anyone's money. Unknown to us it was around 5.99 or less from Ikea.We promptly dropped the price. So yes we get it wrong and we are always happy to be informed of any discrepancies. All but the managers of the Mind shop are volunteers or community service. Therefore are admin costs are very low allowing a greater percentage of the profits to be used by Mind, the same applies to St Christopher's. You will have noticed that the Mary Portas shop only makes a small percentage contribution to Save the Children.
