  1. My son is now in year 5 - again I have struggled for years with this. He was assessed by Lewisham services and finally we were told he suffers from hypermobility and discharged. At the start of the school year they were putting pressure on him to do joined up writing and it seemed any progress he had made had gone out of the window - confidence etc. They agreed to let him carry on without the joined up and he also started re-learning how to write some of his letters which caused him problems. Finally there is progress and I really believe that in a couple of years he will be writing to a similar level to his peers. I have to say I did hesitate about the touch typing. Whilst I appreciate that the need for handwriting is declining I do feel it was necessary for him to be able to write. He was tested but not diagnosed for dyspraxia and is not dyslexic so I felt that he would never be able to get a statement for his handwriting and to try and persevere. Im glad I did.
  2. And does your hairdresser look good on Botox? Serious question - Would people recommend it?

  4. Streatham and Marlborough Cricket Club off Lordship Lane. Lovely family club. They do winter nets on Sunday and then after Easter two hours cricket coaching at their ground after school one day (opposite the old harvester)
  5. Has anybody done any dealings with this company: plantationshuttersdirect ? Thanks
  6. I've had both unfortunately (both also bought in by my cat). The rat lived in our kitchen for two weeks - on the plus side I'm now not scared of mere mice!.I'm with Lewisham council and they come and deal with rats free of charge. If the poo is like a grain of rice it's a rat. Sorry.
  7. Thanks for all the suggestions - good to know that people do it cheaper than I thought!
  8. I'm already thinking of a family summer holiday - we haven't been abroad as a family of 5 before and I'm shocked how much it is going to cost us - What sort of budget do people have to go to say, Spain or Turkey? We like to be independent so I"m not really keen on getting a Thomas Cook resort type holiday but I can't see much change out of 4K once flights etc are paid. Anyone got any suggestions? (3 kids - 15, 11 and 9.
  9. It sounds good but it's a late night opening so maybe not suitable for children? Which is weird! (The website says from 18.30 - 22.00) What a shame.
  10. My son would never do a poo if he was outside the house, he would only use our toilet so we had many frustrating days with him pooing himself when he could no longer hold it in. The solution which worked for me was taking him to Toys R Us and he feel in love with a toy monkey. I said I would buy it for him once he finally stopped pooing himself. Worked a treat, but then I have to confess my parenting skills do rely on bribery a little too much!

I haven't heard of bullying but of course there is bullying in every secondary school. All I can say from experience it is a good school.
  12. Does anybody know of someone who can help my child who has handwriting problems, although he is getting extra help at school i think it would be beneficial to have additional help outside school . Please PM me if possible. Thanks
  13. Goodness me. I look forward to the authorities contacting me to ask how dare i bring attention to kingdales results . Didnt realise the stasi were alive and kicking in dulwich.
