  3. Hi I am finally ready for a night out. Does anyone know of a good babysitter avaialble in the honour oak area for Saturday 26thJune for the night - it could possibly be later than 12, but will provide taxi or if close, walk home. I also need some childcare on the day of the 30th June, during the day, maybe the same person or a child minder? Many Thanks, sam
  4. Thanks, I am looking at lewisham council's list as i am in honour oak park - i will see if any of them do 'on- calls' Thanks Belle
  5. Maybe reduce the Dreamfeed a bit....my daughter is bad at eating in the morning due to everything else being more interesting - so even if she wakes at 7am i treat as a night feed ie night light, no talking etc and then once she has eaten - get her up and do the fun stuff. If i don't she takes what she needs to quell the hunger then wants to play - then hungry a couple of hours later......then i am doing half feeds for the rest of the day :( There is a free group for Gina babies on Babycenter.co.uk - which i found really useful!
  6. Hi I'm just wondering if anyone can help me on this matter. I am a freelance personal chef and am just returning to work after 9 months off to have my baby. Basically, my clients call me for dinner parties, photoshoots, business lunches etc etc and sometimes with not very much notice........i have no idea how to sort childcare out as i have no set hours, no set days and most of the time will need childcare without much notice. Can anyone advise me or have found a solution to this, if they are in the same boat as me? I am only going to do part time and my partner will look after our daughter evenings and weekends. Let me know your thoughts sam
  7. I had an EMCS after a failed 3 day induction - so i was pretty messed up by the time they got to me - but the C sections was fine (i was at Lewisham) and the surgeon played my birth song (Rabbit heart by Florence and the Machine) for me. The Post natal ward was HELL, take food and EARPLUGS AND EYEBLINDS! But recovery was super quick......but.....beware of doing stuff too quickly, because you feel fine! Anyway, 10 weeks after the birth I started Post Cesarean Pilates at dulwhich therapy rooms, which was great, good if you have had SPD which one of the girls had had. Kellie the teacher is great and is very mindful of your cesarean! It really helped my physical and mental recovery and have met some good friends through it.
  8. I am in the same boat as you ladies - I just had to turn down 2 days work, i could get childcare but at ?10 per hour I would be paying more for childcare than i earnt. How much does nannysharing cost? and can you get help with the cost via tax credits if you are Freelance (i am a freelance chef) and need to work at short notice??
