  1. Reduced. Really need to get these out of the back garden 🙂
  2. I think it's an Ektorp, looking at the IKEA site, but it doesn't (and has never had) a cushion on the back, so it's not the current model I reckon. It's pretty comfortable and back is padded. It presumably gets disassembled into a few pieces for moving it. Pick up near Goose Green/St John's school. (It's hardly been used and is now just a glorified clothes hanger in the boy's room).
  3. Continuing the spring clean! Kids Bike, Frog 73 2023 that he's outgrown already. (You can see the seat post on max in the pictures). LInk to brand new spec here https://www.damianharriscycles.co.uk/Frog-73-Green - was 450 new and barely been used (maybe 100km in total). It's been stored inside the whole time so is in great condition. There are a couple of chips on the crossbar and a scrape on the handlebars where he's dropped it 🙄 but otherwise fantastic. Both of those are visible in the pictures. Need the space so we can upgrade so priced accordingly! Pick up from near St John's school at Goose Green.
  4. Giving up on my restoration project! 😄 And clearing out the back garden/where the shed was. This is a Sun Solo from, i believe 1974, that I rescued from a friend of a friend's garden about 8 years ago. It's got new tyres (Schwalbe Marathons, puncture proof) and tubes and has been fully serviced a couple of times. Stored outside under a tarp the last 2-3 years, so some rust spotting, but frame is generally solid as far as I can tell. Seat is pretty done, but I have a brown leather one (a Selle italia knock-off style one) that I'll throw in if I can find it, since it was intended for this anyway. Rides fairly well, but do not expect modern bike stopping power from these old caliper brakes! I've done a few hundred miles on this bike in the time that i've had it, it's been quite dependable. Should go to a home where it can get more love though.
  5. Clearing out after we got rid of the shed. Kids Dimension Ridgeback 24" Wheel bike (spec for new one here) - was 400 new, needs two new tubes and probably tires and a chain (been stored outside under a tarp for 2 years and they're cracked). Pick up from near St John's school.
  6. I got Greg's number off here, and got him round at the weekend to move two radiators. He was fast and effective, and told me when problems cropped up (Victorian houses, standard!) and gave options as to dealing with it. Highly recommend. Really pleasant guy, and even came back to tweak something for me a couple of days later.
  7. There's the Scout Hut on Bellenden Road as well, which is ?15 an hour, and probably has some availability. :)
  8. I'd just like to say - Bozena's been our cleaner for the last year or so, and is fantastic - she keyholds for us and is great with our clutter, and I'm happy to provide a reference. :)
  9. To be honest, I'm not sure the service could get much worse, it's always been uniformly terrible.
  10. Yeah, I was at the match, and there were precisely zero drums. There wasn't even any banging on the hoarding, which sometimes happens and could be construed as drumming sounds.
  11. Well, you don't need an aerial if you're just using it for netflix, and we've just got a wall-coloured trunking section from the surround sound amp up to the TV, didn't get it channeled into the wall - can be fairly straightforward.
  12. There's a sleep regression at about 6-8 months. (Seemed to me like they were every 2 months, tbf). Your choices at this point are either controlled crying/cry it out/whatever variant you want to do on that, or continue calming her. We would sit with our son until he went off until he was about 15 months old, and then we did controlled crying after he refused to self soothe - once we started that it took about 3 nights (2 hours to sleep the first night, 20 minutes the second, 6 the third.), and felt like idiots that we hadn't done it sooner - I think with hindsight, I'm glad we didn't do it earlier. Loads of methods, they all conflict. Do the one that feels right for you. (That said, we were super against trying controlled crying, because it felt mean, and had tried everything else, and it was a last resort. We did 1 min/2 minute/3 minute/5 minute intervals. Getting up every five minutes for two hours is grim and upsetting.)
  13. Unlikely to be the game playing, it uses comparatively little - if he's streaming video, that'll use up bandwith, though. It's far more likely to be interference from nearby routers at peak time. Try changing the channel on your router - they all come out of the factory on one of two main channels (you'll see Channel Numbers between 1 and 11 - most come out on 7). I had this problem in an office recently and changing the channel speeded things up x5! http://blog.laptopmag.com/change-router-wireless-channel If netflix works now, it'll work on your new TV. :) Fwiw: I've had all of the ISPs at one time or another. Talktalk have terrible reliability and customer service, and I'd get someone, anyone who's not them. They have a very poor contention ratio - that's how many people in each area they let use each 'bit of pipe' for the internet. There can be up to 50 other houses on the same bit - it's much lower with Virgin, BT, etc. (This is why TT are cheap). PM me if you need any info. Source: I'm a geek and work for a tech company.
  14. We're about 80 minutes, if you include dinner - probably about 50 if you don't. (He's 2 1/2) Dinner, silly game getting ready for shower, shower/bath, towelly cuddles, getting dressed, stories, nighttime. It can be as short as about a half hour, depending how tired he is. Similar to others, it's an important bit of our day, so we're happy for it to take as long as it takes - if it works for you guys, then it's not a problem. In fact, it tends to work the opposite. The nights we try and make it quicker, it tends to take longer for the boy to settle, with a couple of appearances in the living room, etc.
  15. Kikimac - I"d venture that might have just been a bad day for the staff member in question (totally not acceptable), but we go to the Horniman (at least) every couple of weeks (toddler loves the aquarium and the dinosaur and the walrus and...), and they've almost always been brilliant - i think the cafe staff can be a bit arsey at times, but that's a cafe thing, rather than the museum. Go back, honest, they're really nice! :)
  16. Mouseysarah, that's a great resource, thanks for that! I have much the same problem.
  17. There's some evidence to suggest that starting lessons before five increases the chances of developing perfect pitch pretty substantially. I played piano from about 5 (and double bass from 11, and guitar from 12 and...) and didn't really loathe it till I was about 12-13, when it really wasn't *cool*. Wish i'd kept going. A lot of whether they learn to dread it or not is down to the teacher and how you go about encouraging practice, tbh, same as anything else. I'm all for earlier the better - once I think our lad can get the concept of a lesson and practicing something we'll go for it, probably about 3 1/2. 5 isn't too early, generally. In terms of instruments, piano gives a great basis to play anything else because of the focus (generally) on sight reading and understanding the music. Although you can get the same with other instruments, I found myself reading music from lesson 1and going from there.
  18. It's new guys, the Dulwich Hamlet site has further details: http://www.pitchero.com/clubs/dulwichhamlet/news/car-wash-update-1234033.html :)
  19. Sorry to hear that. There's a lot of it going around. My bike was stolen on Thursday from inside the stairs on the flat (locked to the railings with, yes, a cable lock), as was my neighbour's downstairs.
