  1. CHANGE OF VENUE It turns out that there's a quiz night on Thursday's at the Plough, so I've instead reserved an area at the left-side rear of The Vale (opposite East Dulwich station). Same night, same time. Look for the array of sofas, or ask at the bar if unsure whereabouts in the pub we're based. Hope to see you all there. I'll PM all those who have expressed an interest to inform them. carter39 Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Great to see there's continuing interest in this. > > A meet up to chat about upcoming releases, our fav > films, etc has been arranged for Thursday 16th > June, around 7.30pm in The Plough. > > Look forward to meeting you all then.
  2. Great to see there's continuing interest in this. A meet up to chat about upcoming releases, our fav films, etc has been arranged for Thursday 16th June, around 7.30pm in The Plough. Look forward to meeting you all then.
  3. Thanks to all who've responded. I've PM'd Ms B, lisucia, PSJ, siousxiesue, plus a few others who have expressed an interest in this. I'm looking to arrange a get-together in one of the locals to discuss upcoming releases etc one evening either w/c 6th June or the following week. I'll post details here once a date's been set so if anyone is interested in joining in, they can either PM me, leave a message on here or just pitch up on the night.
  4. Hi, I'm looking to see if there's anyone out there who'd like to become film buddies. I'm mainly into foreign, arthouse and classic film (so it'd be regular pilgrimages to the NFT, the ICA, the Ritzy in Brixton, the Curzon cinemas, etc). If there are any manic film buffs out there who fancy the idea of meeting up regularly to see a film and maybe discussing it afterwards over a beer or a coffee, please get in touch.

It might be on TfL's site. I think it was Zingo (08700 700 700, www.zingotaxi.com). Good idea but, in my experience, poor service. Seldom manage to get a cab from them.
  9. Southwark Council are notoriously dodgy. They gave me a parking ticket once for parking in a parking bay which didn't yet have a pay-and-display system set up. I've also received reminders from them for parking tickets which I'd never received in the first place.
  10. Are there any Hexagon tenants out there who've had problems with work that's been (or being) carried out, especially kitchen and/or bathroom renovations?
  11. Who remembers when they regularly had All-Star charity games there? Dennis Waterman and Patrick Mower were among the star names. I can't remember who they played - was it the Hamlet 1st team, or just two teams of stars playing against each other?
  12. And speaking of Camberwell... has anyone spotted Kevin Spacey, who apparently lives there (or at least, used to)?
  13. A few years ago, the missus passed Terry Gilliam, Terry Jones and another guy (American accent, seemed vaguely familiar but she couldn't think who he was) on Northcross Rd. From the way they were looking around at things, we figured they may have been scouting the area. And of course, Terry Jones used to live in Camberwell.

Babur used to be excellent but has gone seriously downhill over the last 5 years or so.
