  1. The Groom Room in Dulwich Village is open till 8pm all week.
  2. It would be wonderful if the (yes, very nice) staff were more aware of queue lengths at peak times so instead of having a fag break or folding cardboard boxes when there's 10 people jammed up the aisle, they opened the second, or third till.
  3. Dear Whoever is responsible for this work. What a complete balls up! A little feedback from a pedestrians point of view: 1. The "green man" is on for approx 3 seconds. Nowhere near enough time for a grown adult to cross the road, let alone the elderly or young. Completely idiotic. 2. No audible bleep to indicate that it's safe to cross. A basic requirement of any new system surely??? 3. Green man signal confusing/hard to detect from some vantage points. At most crossings, the Green Man is ahead of, and above one's eyeline, here they are at waist level so nobody notices it. 4. It seems like two sets of North/South traffic is allowed to flow between each pedestrian request. WHY? In short, the situation is miles worse than before they started. Utter RUBBISH. Please ask council to re-configure the timings asap.
  4. ..and the owners used to live in east dulwich.
  5. I've got Virgin broadband, the ?25 per month option which I think is either 10 or 20MB. Works pretty well most of the time & I use Sendspace to transmit large files which it handles easily. Can be slower at peak times, like 4pm on a weekday (millions of kids logging on after school) and Saturday mornings but otherwise quite quick. I know it's a cliche but turning the modem & your wifi router off for a minute or so usually reboots effectively and speeds things up if it's grinding to a halt.
  6. it was a little more expensive (obviously) to have them erect it, but well worth the money as it was done properly (ie. no nails sticking out, watertight roof etc etc) and quickly (in about 30 minutes). It's worth mentioning also that you do need to prepare the ground beforehand - it'll need to sit on a level, flat base which i suppose could be your garden if it's really flat, or a patio/ decked area. we dug out & made a concrete base but that was only because our garden was on a slope.
  7. this one's quite nice but if it's out of your price range, I bought one a few years ago, i think it was from here they delivered & assembled it for us and it's been a major success ever since.
  8. Are there no gooners about? Yesterday was by far our best performance of the entire season, does no one feel the joy?
  9. Come on you Gunners! Icing on the Christmas cake. And tonight the Ashes...
  10. I began writing a long and detailed proposal outlining exactly how the lights could be re-phased to make this junction a better and safer place, but stopped and deleted it when I realised none of it made any sense.
  11. Hi James After the latest horrible accident at the junction of Peckham Rye & East Dulwich Grove, could it become a priority to check & re-phase, if necessary, the traffic lights. Thanks S
  12. "its summer time, and some people like to have fun,and enjoy life." who doesn't? cliched standard response when antisocial behaviour is challenged....boring.
  13. he was pulled over by the cops in lordship lane yesterday. hurtling down northcross road wearing a black balaclava was not a good look.
  14. David, thanks so much for flagging that up, I had a look and it's not my bike although very similar. Got quite excited there for a second!
