  1. Thanks for replying. I'm not sure of the background of those arrested - we were exploring whether we're too worried to leave kids alone in recent times, or whether parents would prefer clearer guidance/legislation - or does it depend on each child? I've been looking for people who'd be interested in being on air - but our reporter has headed to Bromley now! If you want to see the end result -- it'll be on BBC London News, BBC One tonight at 6.30pm
  2. Hi, BBC London TV News are looking to speak to parents about what age it's appropriate to leave your children at home on their own. It's after the Met revealed they've arrested 126 people for neglect in the last year. Although legally - there is no minimum age - parents can be prosecuted if their kids are deemed at risk. What do you think and will you talk to us on camera today? Thanks. 0207 765 0920 Gudrun Lawyer
  3. Did you ever appeal this? I got one today in the same place and feel very hard done by. It's in a bay set back from the road and you're not blocking anyone's eye-line of the zebra crossing. There was a note some kind man attached to it saying that he had appealed his ticket there and won and gave me his number. He said the adjudicator had agreed with him that it was a "point of law that the zig zags should be on a road and not in a bay". I think I'm going to appeal and hope it's not too drawn out. I think the lines should either be removed completely or some signage saying DO NOT PARK HERE!
  4. True Dr de Soto, but there are a lot of reports on this forum about burglaries and I've spoken to people who feel that in East Dulwich it's also got "out of control" and that the area is being specifically targeted. I'm not covering the story today (a colleague may be), but will make sure a distinction is made about the two areas (although only separated by yards). Thanks
  5. Hello, I'm a producer at BBC London TV News looking at a story for tomorrow on burglaries, and how few arrests there are. I know Dulwich was recently highlighted in the papers as a hot spot in London for burglaries. I also live in the area so know there are plenty of victims. Is there anyone who'd be happy to go on camera and talk about their experience tomorrow (Thursday 28th Jan)? Please get in touch. Thanks Gudrun ([email protected]) Newsroom: 02077650920
  6. I also recommend Andy and Richard. They came and put a concrete base down for a bike shed in the front garden. Then when it became apparent that we couldn't actually put it together - they quoted very reasonably for that and came and assembled it for us. It took much longer than anticipated but they only charged what they'd quoted which was really reasonable. Really nice guys and will be using them again. Andy: 07564 194363
