Thanks for all the replies from those interested, but I have now made arrangements to have the work done I need someone to demolish and remove a standard wooden garden shed, as well as the decking it currently stands on I remember seeing a few recommendations on this forum previously, but cannot find them now

I would like to recommend John from JKA Damp Proofing and Sika tanking (07713 187226) as he has just finished a long job in the basement of my Victorian house on Crystal Palace Road I had a very bad case of water getting into the vault under my front stairs, as well as a damp problem in a number of spots at the back of the house He removed plasterwork back to the brick and removed the front steps, which threw up some small structural problems which John dealt with quickly and professionally. Tanking the vault area and replacing the front steps once the sika concrete was in place His concrete and plaster work is excellent and done with real enthusiasm. Although it's impossible to avoid mess when removing old plaster, John works with care and keeps disruption to a minimum, with plenty of dust sheeting and floor protection. Once the job was done, there was a full clean up As with any building work, final pricing often goes beyond original cost estimates, but John made sure we discussed and agreed any additional work that needed doing and kept me informed on costs all along the way Overall, a really good job done to a very high standard. Thoroughly recommended if you can find a spot in his busy diary!

Apologies to David and the team at Norwood Roofing for not posting sooner, but its only with the recent rain that I've had a chance to put their work to the test and they passed with flying colours Really top class service from David and the team to repair a leaking flat roof, some associated re-pointing and fixing of a loose tile while they were up there As said by others, David is a top man, quick to respond, resonably priced and keeps you informed throughout the job Very highly recommended

Along with others on this site, I would like to recommend Steve Carter and his team at SPS, who have just finished refurbishing my sash windows They stripped down every window in the house, replaced all the sash cords, fixed any damp problems, completely draught-proofed each window and painted inside and out in the space of a week, all without leaving any mess! I will certainly use Steve and his guys again, but they've done such a good job, that I probably won't need to for some time
