  1. I think you may be confusing arse with the aforementioned word followed by the word 'hole'. At the bottom (clue is in the name) of the part of my anatomy that is kept in place by the screw in my belly button, on me at least, are two limbs. Perhaps I am different to others, or perhaps I walk funny. I've heard of the Archers. Didn't they go into business making peach snaps? Are you sure you aren't named after a character in The Magic Roundabout and the place where they made Dinky Toys?
  2. I think I covered this in my post, Zebedee. Obviously you bounce from one spot to the next (I've seen you on TV), whereas I progress in a forwardly fashion by putting one foot in front of the other, having legs instead of a large spring.
  3. I almost did. I'm very close to Penge. I prefer to say that I live in South East Dulwich or Upper Beckenham. Mind you, Penge, Sydenham and East Dulwich all have a Blue Mountain Cafe.
  4. It's Trattoria Raffaele. They are on Facebook and have a website and therefore are fully paid up members of the 20th century. Their pizzas are amazing, the family that run it have Italian Heritage, the guy who runs it took over from his dad who had the restaurant before. They are nice people too. It's in Sydenham, in the lower bit which some on here seem to think is a bit 'bleak'. If passing through Sydenham after locking your car doors until you reach the safety of Dulwich Borders, it's opposite the Dolphin and is lit at night in green white and red. If you don't know where the Dolphin is, it's opposite Trattoria Raffaele.
  5. I live in the part of Sydenham described as 'bleak', but a big thrrruuuuuurp to those that think that way as what we lack in daylight in our Morlock existence, we make up for in value for money housing and the ability to get to Beckenham, Forest Hill (straight up Perry Vale) and the Dolphin (the best pub in Sydenham with a fantastic garden). We also have an art gallery and these best Indian Restaruant for miles (the Lemon Tree), the best Italian Restaurant for miles (Trattoria Raffaele)). 3 bed houses with 50 feet gardens were about ?300k a year or so ago (lots more now, which is pointless) and kent is on our doorstep. Dulwich and Crystal palace are a short drive away. There are lots of parks (Mayow being a favourite with it's lovely playground and table tennis tables). East Dulwich isn't far. One advantage about living in the bleak part of Sydenham is that it encourages you to go to other areas. The two body parts sticking out of my arse, known to many as legs, have many uses, one of which is to transport the rest of my body to other areas other than the one within a set radius of my front door, either by using different modes of transport or literally by putting one foot in front of the other to move this Neandethal car us around under it's own steam. So if you like good transport links, a good community, great value housing (for London), space, the final frontier and the ability to get to places that have a great high street to spend the money you don't have and aren't bothered too much by the generally shabby state of Sydenhams ever improving high street (wine bar being built, Greyhound being done up by Christmas, new bar in Kirkdale, new deli, organic food store/market opening soon, new deli in Kirkdale etc) plus the fact that I live there, which should be good enough for anyone, I'd recommend it.

  7. Shame no-one asked him what was happening in case he replied "do you think I have a crystal ball?"
  8. Controversial! http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y274/leenewham/Picture37.png http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y274/leenewham/Picture38.png
  9. If you use it like an iphone it will make you look really small.
  10. I rememeber a plumber when I was younger called C.R.Dicks. It always made me laugh.
  11. lol...Brilliant. Almost as good as in the thick of it.
  12. I also thought Cameron was awful last night and that Brown was much better. If you listen to the 3 debates I found that Cameron said exactly the same thing, word for work, again and again without answering the questions in every debate. I know Brown keeps going on about Tax Credits (I don't even know what they are, how do you get them?) but it paled into insignificance compared to David "autocue" Cameron. All 3 debates were pretty similar and it was the same argument in every debate. The BBC one managed to stop looking like it was being shown in the studio that used to host 'The Price is Right' which felt a bit more dignified. It's great that they HAVE got people talking. Hopefully more people will vote, but I am getting a bit tired of it all now.
  13. I saw the Modfather 'Paul Weller' in Bayswater. He was miserable and rude. I walked past George Harrison and his wife in Henley (back when he was alive, I'm no Doris Stokes). He looked like a tramp but there was something in the way he moved. I saw Gwen Stefani in the Airport in LA. She has loads of makeup and is really short (so short she should have had a fishing rod and red hat). Having said that, she is still incredibly beautiful. Oh, I saw Kate Moss in Primrose Hill. She looked rough, nothing special. Blimey, I sound like a stalker!

They cost between ?1000 and ?1500 installed (we looked into it for our local park). They are common place in Europe. ONe youngster who was involved in gangs got into table tennis and it turned his life around (he's now a champion table tennis player and helps other kids who were in a similar circumstance to him to take up the game). In a local youth centre near where I live there are indoor tables and they are often used. So don't be such a grump! ;-)
  15. It's amazing what you can get in Next these days. it's not pub friendly though. Neither for taking liquid or getting rid of it.
  16. It looks a bit like a reflection of someone in a spoon... While I think celebrating real people rather than a stick thin model is good, celebrating someone who is clearly overweight is as bad. I think competitions like this are outdated. Why can't we celebrate things that are the best, most interesting or beautiful (I'm not talking about people). Growing up my heroes were people and groups like Joseph Paxton, the Beatles, Monty Python, Jimmie Stewart, I.K. Brunel, Picasso, Oscar Neirmeyer, Frank Lloyd Wright... These days people seem to grow up wanting to be like Katie Price or Paris Hilton. And that's just the blokes.
  17. People who wear their trousers half way down their a*se showing their Kalvin Cleen undercrackers. People who play really loud bass music in their cars so you can actually feel it's vibrations. Infact, scrub that, really loud music in general. People who don't thank you for opening a door for them or some other random act of kindness. God, I'm getting old.
  18. I hate the taste and smell...but it looks rather beautiful. You may be able to buy it in Franklins for ?25 a jar.
  19. Ah...yes that one is clearly photoshopped (nothing to do with us!) but the others on the site are real. We put quite a few of those on the site, they were sent to a architect friend of mine. CLICK HERE TO SEE MORE INCLUDING A RESTAURANT CALLED 'HAPPY CRACK' :-)
  20. Ah, just seen this, I didn't think anyone was interested after I posted it on the other thread about the cinema. Just in case you haven't clicked on the link. Here is the before: http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y274/leenewham/whatifsydenham/cp-cinema-before_2.jpg But what if: http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y274/leenewham/whatifsydenham/CPCINEMAMASTER_AFTER.jpg See more about it on the blog (more pictures and info) and lots of other makeovers of shops in Sydenham. www.whatifsydenham.wordpress.com There's a lot going on. Wer'e focusing on solutions for empty shops next.
  21. We've just completed a 'what if Crystal Palace Cinema' makeover showing a before and after of what it could look like. We have done a few of these which you can see on www.whatifsydenham.wordpress.com. Judging by feedback in a questionaire on the Sydenham Town forum, everyone goes to Lordship Lane or Crystal Palace rather than shop in Sydenham Road.
