  1. We are just interested in what you think those holes are? When we said "pick your words carefully," we were trying to say, that you shouldn't make assumptions about our situations, because its unjust. Now, we have explained ourselves, would you mind explaining what you meant? The Goose Green Squatters. xxx
  2. Would you like to point out these holes you seem so convinced are there? Pick your words carefully. The Goose Green Squatters. x
  3. You don't know what is going on here. You seriously don't know the full story. Our group consists of 7 college students, we aren't even at University yet. To be honest ?30 a week EMA doesn't cut it in the 21st centuary. We all live on the top 2 floors of our house. On the bottom 3 floors there are 10 Polish people, who were recently evicted from their squat, therefore homeless in this country. We won't go into the logistics of it all, but they all work full time on wages that the likes of the majority of you wouldn't survive on. They are a group of intelligent, civilised and exstremely creative people. Stop creating stupid stereotypes for us, don't talk about what you have no clue about. This is the 21st century, be a bit more open minded. On the other hand. We would like to thank everyone who has been supporting us. The Goose Green Squatters. x RIP Guru.
  4. You have got us all wrong. We are not free-loading posh kids, studying law and we are certainly not of a violent nature. We don't have too justify why we are squatting too anyone because what we are doing is completely legal, we just felt that we should just let the forum know what we are doing. A lot of assumptions have been made about us, most of the assumptions made about us are wrong, you don't know us, and until you meet us don't make assumptions about who we are and what we stand for. This will be our last post on the forum because we don't want too take part in the predictability of the EDF any longer. Thanks to all of the people who support what we are doing and hopefully we can stick around for a while. The Goose Green Squatters.
  5. The building was bought in early January 2010. Since then nothing has been done too the house. Your welcome The Goose Green Squatters. x
  6. The house is rotting around the windows quite a lot, causing some problems by making the house really cold. The house is in a state but we are using our DIY skills to bring the house back to life. We feel like we've been cleaning forever. We have gained internet by using a modern tactic, mobile 'dongle' broadband. We feel that people are generalising squatters a bit too much. We don't want to get into a political debate about the pros and cons of squatting. We just want to live here peacefully until we are moved on, when it comes to the time when the owner has the eviction order, we will leave peacefully. If you would like to find out more about squatting check out http://www.squatter.org.uk/ Thanks to all our supporters. The Goose Green Squatters. x
  7. More reluctant. Our mistake. The Goose Green Squatters. x
  8. I'm sure if the owner approached us without being confrontational, we could move out. But if we have the property for a few months before being approached by the owners, we would be less reluctant to give up the house, due to the fact that the owners have shown lack of interest in the property. We are reasonable people and aren't going out of our way too intentionally ruin home owners lives. The house is now full and no more spaces are available. Thanks again for your support. The Goose Green Squatters. x
  9. Dear all This whole post has turned into a seriously interesting debate. We are not committing any crimes at all. We climbed in through a window on one of the upper floors. All our actions are legal and we will always stick to the rules. When we said "we will be less reluctant to cooperate." We meant if we are met with physical threats, we shall take them through the courts and use our legal rights as squatters. If you are interested in our rights, read the a book called 'The Squatters Handbook'. People have their own views on squatting and we understand both sides of the argument. We aren't here to create a bad vibe, we just want too live our lives in a peaceful manor. We would never associate ourselves with fascists, and we find it very insulting to be compared with any type of Fascists. Thank you all for your opinions. The Goose Green Sqautters. x
  10. We have approached our neighbours and explained what we are doing, they are satisfied we are not here too cause any trouble. The house has been abandoned for months now, it could have quite easily have become an eyesore in the near future. We are not yet sure why the house is empty, but it is clear nobody has been taking any care of the house at all. We aren't screwing anybody over and we don't intend too. We are making use of this beautiful building and once evicted in the correct manor we shall leave. Thanks for all your support. The Goose Green Squatters. x
  11. "Access to housing is a right not a privilege" totally agree, why let beautiful buildings across the country go to waste. Thanks for your support The Goose Green Sqautters. x
  12. Its not so much a loophole, more of a helping hand to the poor and homeless, which has been in society for hundreds of years. Hopefully we will be able to fully cooperate with the owners, but we shall wait and see. Thanks for your interest The Goose Green Sqautters. x
  13. We changed the Electricity and Water into our names, and we are on a Electric PAYG Key. We are currently not using the Gas as its not properly connected. We are topping up the key and are trying too use as little electricity as possible. We are not doing anything illigal, we are doing everything by the book. Thanks for your interest The Goose Green Squatters. x
  14. Yes, we know who the owner is. It is quite cheeky but i get your point. the majority of us are studying full time and are pretty much broke and currently all our funds are being drained by the resources we need to make the house liveable. We will have to see how we are approached by the owners, if they are forceful and aggressive then we will be more reluctant to cooperate. We have quite alot of rights, if you are intersted and want to read up more about squatting visit: http://www.squatter.org.uk/ Thanks for your interest The Goose Green Sqautters. x
  15. We are the squatters in the house on goose green. We are very pleased to see that you are taking an interest into our activities. We just want to state our intentions and show that we aren't a bunch of freeloaders. We moved into the house just under 2 weeks ago now, it has been empty for about 5-6 months now and was falling into disrepare. We didnt cause any damage to the building and we are not looking to damage the building in any way, if anything we want to improve the building too create a adiquat living space. we are currently cleaning the whole house and touching up on our diy skills. we have electricity and water and yes, we are paying our way. our intentions our to live in the house without causing any disruption to the local community, so we won't be throwing any crazy parties, we just want to put this beautiful empty building to some good use. rather than leaving an empty house in one of londons most saught after areas completely empty and rotting away. squatting in the UK is completely legal and we are doing everything by the book. We have had conversations with the neighbours explaining our intentions and we want to show that we are not here for a free ride, we all work or are studying in london and we can't currently afford to pay stupid rent charges in london. Thanks for taking an interest and hopefully you will be supportive of us in our actions. The Goose Green Sqautters. x
