  1. Hello Has anyone got a good company or joiner that makes external wooden doors? I have a kitchen extension that I would like to put large doors into to open up onto the garden. But I would like to do it in hardwood instead of the usual aluminium. Any recommendations gladly received, thank you

I can ring it to you and am happy to pay the going rate. The alternative is a big company in Wembley but so far to go with my twin boys. Many thanks Georgina
  4. Hello, I have a wardrobe and chest of drawers that I would like to have repainted. It's a lacquered teak at the moment and I would like it to be an off white. Looking for someone skilled as it's a very nice piece and don't want to mess it up by DIY Can anyone recommend someone to do this please? i.e. someone who specialises in furniture rather than a painter/ decorator. Or would a spray shop be a better idea? Any thoughts gratefully received. Georgina

  7. I am a self employed Property Manager, looking for an administrative assistant to start asap. I manage a portfolio of buy to let property across London, which involves setting up tenancies and managing repairs on behalf of landlords. The job would be mainly administrative tasks, however a knowledge of property management would be an advantage. Able to work quickly and with a polite, professional manner. Example tasks include: Placing adverts online for vacant properties Adding to and editing a database of properties and tenants Online filing of documents via dropbox Basic book keeping using Excel spreadsheets Creating documents for the business- letters, forms, contracts and inventories (I will provide training for this) Researching online to find and buy products Contacting tradespeople to make appointments I have a home office and the job would be working from my home to start with, with the possibility to work some hours from home in future. The position pays ?10 per hour 10 hours per week split over Monday and Friday. Probably 10am - 3pm. To be confirmed and can be flexible on this. There may be scope to grow the role over time for the right person. If you would like to apply, please email your cv or outline of your experience and current situation to me at [email protected]
  8. Hi there, I am looking for the same. We have a three year old Weimaraner who is very friendly and outgoing but has some separation anxiety if we take him to other people's houses when we go away, so need someone to stay and house sit / dog sit and walk him instead. They would need to be experienced with dogs and happy to do 2 walks per day and have own transport. Usually long weekends and the occasional week away. Please let me know if you can help / recommend? Many thanks, Georgina
  9. Hi All, Does anyone have any information on Print Village on Chadwick Road / Lyndhurst Way? Specifically why is it named Print Village - is it to do with the use of the industrial units now, or does the location / area have historical use as a printing house for example? Thanks in advance for any info you may have. G
  10. Hi all, not sure whether this is the right place to post this - Our lovely bassist has moved abroad and so left an opening in our band. Please PM me if you're interested! We are all friendly 30 somethings, and were essentially put together by a musician friend to form a band last year, but didn't know each other before starting so are very open to new people joining - i.e. we're aren't cliquey :0) We currently are keyboard, drums and two female singers. There will be a spot for a guitarist as well a little later down the line once we're up and running with a bass player. I'm the keyboard player and based in Peckham so can meet locally for instrumental stuff, but as a whole group we meet in rehearsal rooms in Central London about twice a month. We've played 1 gig before to about 100 people as part of a three band evening. It was great fun! We are renting Shoreditch Town Hall to throw a halloween ball so that's our next gig. A while a way but gives us time to choose songs and work towards something. We all have busy work schedules too! You'll need to be competent, but nowhere near pro. Double bass is a bonus if you have one. Our song list includes so far: Happy - Pharrell Williams That Man - Caro Emerald Radioactive - Imagine Dragons Rolling in the Deep - Adele Shine my shoes - Robbie Williams (it's a swing number, don't knock it until you've heard it). So....Don't be shy, send me a PM! Georgie

  13. Seconding this recommendation - had Nick and team to redecorate and found that we were able to get lots of other handyman jobs done around the house at the same time. Easy to talk to and kept in touch about timing, costs and the jobs in general as we went along.

  20. Hi all, The lake in Burgess Park has blue-green algae rounds its edges due to shallow water and recent temperature increases. The Council has only put up a very easy to miss note on top of a bin as a warning, so please pass on the message particularly to dog walkers. Blue-green algae is highly toxic for dogs (and other animals, as well as dangerous to humans) and contact / ingestion can result in liver failure and death. The council website has more info and hopefully will updates on the algae situation if you want to check on it over coming days. Please be sure to avoid the lake if walking your dog there, and do not let them go in to swim or drink from it. I had to rush my dog to the vet this morning to induce vomiting, as he ran in to the water and started to drink, and then I noticed the algae round the sides. Very frightening but fingers crossed we are in the clear as no symptoms in the last 10 hours. Sorry to scaremonger! But please do pass on this warning if you or anyone you know walks there. All the best, Georgie
  21. Hello all, I'm just wondering whether anyone would be interested in buying locally homemade zero points soup and salads etc.? I often find that I make large batches of soups, salads and other homemade meals for my ww plan and thought there may be others with less time who would like homemade options without having to cook from scratch all the time. I would start out with zero points soups, say 3 different types a week and deliver them in batches to you locally. I'm thinking of charging about ?1 per soup (large cup), or 5 for ?4, plus ?1 for local delivery (each delivery, not per item). After that could branch out to salads and stews - pasta sauces, bolognese, casseroles etc. which would be pro pointed and home made. Just an idea as I think the ww ready meals are awful but cooking from scratch all the time is so time consuming! Please do let me know if you think this is a good idea, and if you might be interested. Best, Georgina
