  1. If you look at a website - www.theseam.co.uk you are likely to find a host of clothes makers/menders/alterers and embroiderers. I have had clothes both repaired and altered and about to commission an embroidery project myself. definitely worth a look.
  2. If you get any replies I would be interested. Looking to secure a wobbly 3 storey bannister.
  3. Dear Maria Welcome to London. I have 2 vintage coats, one that needs re-lining and some replacement buttons (one lost and no spares). The other which is lined, but the thread holding the lining together is fragile and breaking. I think the existing lining needs re-sewing with new thread. It has quite a few panels of material. Would you be interested. I can bring the coats to you either one evening or at the weekend. Kind regards Juliet Juliet Sturridge 07834488159
  4. Can I suggest you visit Isabelle Capitain at 7 Upland Road, London SE22 9EE. She is currently designing an engagement ring for my son and has not only come up with enhancing ideas on his original concept but has been incredibly helpful supportive of him during the process.
  5. Could you let me know too? I have leaking tap but I would also like to relocate it about 4 feet. So perhaps a slightly larger job.
  6. Rumour has it there is a person in Nunhead who re-wires lamps. Does anyone have contact details? Many thanks Juliet
  7. I have a slightly leaking kitchen mixer tap and an outdoor tap that you cannot fully turn off (think the value has gone). Recommendations? Thanks Juliet
  8. Have very large and heavy over mantle mirror (gilt frame). Looking for some-one who could repair/replace piece the fell off the bottom and got partly chewed by the dog. I think it also needs some added stability to the back. Have Victorian Pine chest of drawers that has lost a bit of support for the top pair of drawers (so they lean into the drawer below). Perfectly usable piece of furniture otherwise just trying to see if I can give it a new lease of life. Any recommendations?
  9. Opposite Nunhead station. Lovely garden centre with very helpful and knowledgable staff.
  10. How small? HMRC has free software for companies with fewer than 10 employees. Otherwise look at Xero. Online accoutning package you rent that now has payroll. Haven't used the payroll but the accounting package is really easy to use.
  11. I am looking for some-one who could un-hitch my current range cooker from the gas and install its replacement. The New Cooker is being delivered on Saturday 19 December (don't have a precise time yet) and the company delivering is going to take away the old one. The new cooker is exactly the same size as the old one. I intend replacing the gas hose (if that is the right word) and expecting to have the opportunity to put on the marigolds muck out the space the old cooker has inhabited for the last 16 years. Can anyone help or recommend some-one? Thank you Juliet 07834 488159
  12. I have a 1998 Saab 93 Aero. I take it to Cromwells in Lower Sydenham. They are Saab specialists, I bought the car from them and they have look after it ever since then. www.cromwellsaab.com
  13. Davies and Vaughan on Upland Road. Did a beautiful job on my Victorian Opal beads.
