  1. @Northcrossbuns sorry to hear that you are finding running groups annoying. Just a thought... A recent study by the University of Manchester suggests that two-thirds of women get harassed while running. The study says abuse by men and boys is ‘everyday occurrence’ – with only 5% of cases reported to police. Therefore aren't running groups a good thing?
  2. Hi Renata, it would be really great if you could sort the tree out. Thank you!
  3. I saw Olivia Colman from Peepshow on North Cross Road the other day - she was very smiley.
  4. I saw a glum looking Andy Coulson from the NoTW on Woodvale the other day. I asked him what was up? He said he was just a bit p1ssed off so I gave him an apple to cheer him up a bit. He appeared surprised but happy.
  5. Is Amy Winehouse really dead? Jeez, I though it was Lily Allen.
  6. I got a nasty bite on my little toe in my garden on Saturday night :-(
  7. Apparently he's on the Dukan diet!
  8. *Bob* is right, human urine is apparently really quite effective. They like to poo in flower beds so if you can get more ground cover this will help. You can't stop them, personally I really like them and I hope to see more in my garden.
  9. I just came across this: http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?5,695643 Something fishy is going down with the local fox population.
  10. Even more amusing than the original but is Annette Curtain Yvonne Quinn in disguise?
  11. There's no reason why it couldn't have been a buzzard, the population in Kent has really grown in recent years and Kent isn't far away. I saw a red kite fly over Therapia Road not that long ago and a Peregrine over Peckham Rye park last summer.
  12. Here's a response to a complaint I made to Southeastern about the dead fox in the Nunhead station stairwell. I thought some of you who use the station might find it amusing... Dear Mr Wilkes Thank you for your website comment which we received on 20 June 2011. I am very sorry for the situation you describe at Nunhead Station on Monday 20 June, with a dead fox in the stairwell which wasn't being dealt with. Your account of this situation is extremely disappointing and I again apologise for letting you and other passengers down so much. We certainly want to make sure that the station environment is a pleasant experience for those passengers waiting for their train services. We do try to ensure that our stations are cleaned and maintained regularly. The Station Manager and his staff should make regular inspections of all public areas throughout the day. If any problems are discovered, then our staff should try to rectify these as quickly as possible. However, on this occasion it is clear that we failed to address the problem you (and not doubt others) discovered. So I have brought your comments to the attention of the Station Manager, who will ensure that this issue is addressed as a priority. Once again, please accept my apologies for this poor situation. I hope your future experiences at Nunhead are trouble free. Yours sincerely Yvonne Quinn Customer Relations Officer Southeastern
  13. We've had a goldcrest in the garden earlier this year as well as goldfinches (they love nyger seeds), blue tits, great tits and all the usual garden birds. Have seen amazing spectacles on the Rye - flocks of paraqueets chasing off herons. Last year I saw a peregrine flying over and a month ago I to my amazement I saw a red kite flying over Therapia Road! One Tree Hill is reliable for greater spotted woodpeckers and jays (quite common in se15 and se22) and I've heard green woodpeckers in Brenchley Gardens.
