  1. Hi All, I am considering doing a course of IPL hair removal at the beauty salon in Dulwich Village. Does anyone have any experience doing it there? I have hear mixed reports and thought I would check here too. Are there any other places locally that offer this treatment? Thank you so much U

  3. Thank you all. I think my friend is just keen to have her daughter to live in England and attend an English school in the hope that this will improve her language. Like you, I am concerned about the GCSE exams and the timing of it all as it is so different to the Spanish curriculum. I will pass all this on. Hugely helpful, thank you.
  4. Hi All, A bit of a curved ball. I have a friend from Spain who would like to enrol one of her children (aged 15) to study here in England for an academic year and has asked me to help. I have had a look online but it seems rather confusing at first glance so, while I carry on scouting the internet, I wondered if any EDFers have had experience with this or know of someone who has and could point me in the right direction. Hugely appreciated.
  5. Hi All, I need to get an old sink re-enamelled but haven't been able to find anyone locally. Does anyone have a recommendation? Thank you very much.
  6. Thank you all! I will look at this other flooring company too. Cheers
  7. Hi there, thanks for getting in touch. It isn't the cellar I am tiling, it is the basement where there will be a laundry room and other stuff. Thank you though, Maria
  8. Hi All, We are looking at having some rubber flooring installed in our basement. We have narrowed it down to the Dalsouple rubber tiles but then someone told me they had some issues with the sealant that was laid on it making it very dusty and slippery. Has anyone had that experience using Dalsouple rubber tiles too? Thank you for any knowledge you may have Maria

  10. Hi EDFers, Our cleaner of 10 years is leaving the country to go back to her homeland and I am on the lookout for someone asap. We are a busy family of five (and a dog) looking for a housekeeper/ cleaner for eight hours a week (split into two days). We need someone organised, trustworthy and very professional. The job includes all cleaning and managing some of the household laundry (washing, folding and ironing). Generally helping to keep the house clean and tidy. There is plenty to do with three small kids around. Here is more of a list of what comes to mind but we can discuss at interview stage: Cleaning and tidying - the usuals (dusting, hoovering, mopping) Change bed sheets once a week and wash/iron Load/unload dishwasher Ironing clothes as needed Folding clothes and putting them away Laundry References are essential and recommendations very welcome. Please let me know if you are interested Thank you
  11. Hi EDFers, I have a similar question to Monkeys above but it is specific to drums. My 4.5yr old has been saying for a while that he wants to play drums. He is fairly musical but I wonder if he is mostly attracted to the huge sound of the drum and not so much the idea of playing something if that makes sense. In any case, I thought I would look into this but haven't found anywhere locally where they can do drums at his age. Does anyone have any recommendations? I am not from a musical background so I don't even know if it is a good idea to start with drums as a first instrument. Thank you all!
  12. Our friends lost their children's coats at Dulwich Park playground. One is blue with white and pink flowers, the other blue with monsters. They are raincoat types. If anyone has seen them, please could you let me know? Thanks
  13. Hi midivydale, sorry to hear you've been under the weather. I have been taking Ferrous Fumarate for two weeks now as I was also told my ferretin levels were rather abnormal. According to my GP and midwife (due number 3 today) the normal range is between 20 and 200. Mine was 7 and they were shocked. There are many causes but the usual treatment, at least to get started, is a high dose of ferrous sulfate. I am taking them twice a day but they said that might increase to three times a day after the baby comes as iron reserves will also suffer somewhat with labour. I am not aware of anything other than taking the supplements that can be done to restore the ferritin levels but I'll be paying close attention to this thread. Best of luck Midivydale!
  14. Thanks Midivydale! I never manage to get through to anyone at G on the phone. Yes, closed indeed due to damage caused by the storm. In case anyone is interested the BUZZ zone in Beckenham Spa is open. Much smaller but quite manageable.
  15. Hi All, does anyone know if Gambados Beckenham is open today? Suffering from cabin fever a little (the kids, not me). Thank you!
