  1. I also like Brasserie Zedel for that kind of thing but it does mean getting on the tube! x
  2. Hi just saw post from Cherry Tree advertising being open on Christmas Day so they might be open! I CANNOT vouch for the food merely passing on that they are open on Christmas Day (argggh!) Alternatively have you thought about getting in a caterer to do it for you in your own home (I would offer but probably be in Scotland!) You usually can get someone who would cook to your requirements and either work in your home or drop off & leave you with instructions how to heat up etc. Good luck xx
  3. Hi we are moving house on Friday and due to timescales/work etc. I just don't know that I can get to the dump to do this on time (& removal companies will not take paint). If you are able to offer this service (or want paint for free) please text me on 07782645112 to arrange/quote. I will need to see some kind of guarantee that it will be either used for other paint jobs or alternatively disposed of properly at a facility as I am vehemently against fly tipping. Please note some of it is a couple of years old and I cannot make out some of the colours - it will be a case of potluck I'm afraid ... our houses have always been done in grey/off whites so probably in those tones! Cheers Mrs J
  4. I've been going to Sam (ex Trevor Sorbie) at Willis B. on Lordship Lane for years... I've NEVER had a less than fab haircut and many of my friends now go to her too! (Works part time) Highly recommend x
  5. Welcome! If you like cakes/baking there is a monthly bake-off get together 'Band of Bakers' - PM if you'd like details x
  6. Hiya, heard good things about https://www.phonedudes.co.uk/#home .. they come to you! Alternatively try one of the small phone stalls on Rye Lane - used to be ?20, think it's now ?30. (I went to the one diagonally opp. Argos, next to the nail bar a few years ago!) Cheers H
  7. Hi what sort of field - Fashion, food or interiors? Hx
  8. Thanks to kids, cats, and dogs my fairly new rug in the lounge is looking awful and I'd like to have in cleaned asap - any recommendations much appreciated! Cheers H
  9. Hi I had a significant birthday a couple of years back at Le Chandelier .. venue is fab, we had drinks/nibbles at the front and DJ in the back room! Back then there WAS a spend of ?1500 on the bar required but we put some on ourselves and the target was easily reached (I think there was 70-80 odd people) x

I heard a rumour that Tom Cruise was in East Dulwich this afternoon?!
  11. oh forgot to mention Il Mirto on Melbourne Grove - a total hidden gem of a place! (Sardinian) We are actually spoilt for choice so very lucky!
  12. Agreed wholeheartedly about virtually everything mentioned so far - if you fancied wandering into Crystal Palace Joannas is well worth a visit too!
  13. Really?? Person posts about a bus route and pedants are picking on punctuation & missing words ... maybe person typing from a phone with no glasses to hand?... good grief... this forum never fails to amaze ..
  14. Huge thumbs up for The Cattery in SE20 - Margaret is wonderful and we took our boy there year after year until he died in the Spring ... highly recommend x
  15. I live on the DE - bunch of robbers IMHO! A bit off thread however they have decided that our road needs extensive resurfacing works to the tune of just under 1 million quid ... that means each house on our little estate must cough up around ?10K per household (!) to put towards these unneccesary works!! They are completely out of touch with the 'common man' and the only way I'm getting 10K is by buying a balaclava...!
  16. Coming into this very late but I lived on Chesterfield until 2002 - even then we used to have major issues with parking not to mention the Iceland HGV's that flaunted the restrictions on occasion and came hurtling down the road at 6.30am!! Thought about moving back a few years ago but then remembered the lorries & the parking ... feel for the residents now
  17. The aquarium shop in Crystal Palace has them but I may still have huge bag in the garage (I'll check) - we had snails too ... departed now sadly :(
  18. I called the council about this issue about 3 months ago (after skidding on a rather large pile en route to Goodrich School). We have renamed the road Turd Street but it isn't funny and I agree with further action being needed. Traffic Enforecement are quick enough to put tickets on your car should you park naughtily around the school so let's get fines sorted for doggy doo too!
  19. Hi during the course of searching for our lost (& thankfully found - weird story!) cat we found an silver iPod (classic I think?!) There is a name and date of birth engraved on the back but no one responded to the names we emailed via Facebook. If you or anyone you know have lost this please get in touch. It was found on the Peckham Rye side of E.D. We have been offline for a few days due to no broadband - this was found about a week or so ago so apologies for the delay. Cheers H
