  1. I'm sorry, and I know that they have somehow erased themselves from public criticism, but my last visit to Le Chandelier was a joke! Walked in and there were a few miserable cakes displayed on the counter (one of each - apparently there were more downstairs but the offer was so sad looking and made me feel like leaving immediately). The service was amazing, lovely fair haired waitress could not have been more helpful but the final straw came as at the end of the afternoon three or four mice darted from one side of the restaurant to the other. Other customers also noticed. We were all shocked. Apart from the scare factor (!) it really is not clean to have mice wandering around all over the shop floor. GOD knows what lurks behind the scenes. They should sort this out!
  2. Am I the only one who is depressed by the production of this sculpture, the absence of design research as relates to the area, the crude addition of wings once the sculptor discovered that Blake had seen angels on Peckham Rye (though this is such an old chestnut - lots of other interesting things happened on the Rye over the years including a race by Boudica!), lack of consutation with local community, lack of documentation on site......
  3. Our lovely cleaner has some spare hours! She has been cleaning our house for years and is energetic, reliable, honest, observant and discreet. Her clients are largely in East Dulwich, Peckham and Camberwell. I would be delighted to give her a reference or tell you more about her if you would like to pm me. Call Spotless Daisy on 07415 212 310
  4. Does anyone know anything about Bespoke-Builders Beckenham or Tyrone Liston? I saw him suggested on EDF and wondered if anyone had any personal experience to share. Many thanks
  5. Hello! Next time you have some spare seeds, could you pot them up and donate them to the Peckham Rye Fete plant stall maybe. That would be fantastic.
  6. Hello James We are very concerned about Peckham Rye - a public area of common land - being turned into a dirt track by the new school in Forest Hill Road who are trying to weedle their way to using the Rye for sports for up to 1000 boys. We did not want a school of this size here (on a tiny site) in the first place and rigidly protested. If the boys start using the Rye as a sports field that will be the end of public access. It must not happen - there would be an uprising and we could all do without that.
  7. Well I think it is definitely the Electrical Engineers Cafe on Peckham Rye. Carrot cake is superb and cooked on site...
