  1. Just found some front door (I think) keys in the road - Stuart Rd near the Ivy House pub. Please PM for details.
  2. Hi Alex, welcome to ED :-) What sort of prices are guitar lessons for adult beginners? Do you offer a trial lesson or discounts for a block booking of lessons?
  3. Hi all, I live in ED and work at London South Bank University (at Elephant & C) in the Education Department. If you work in a school or educational setting then you might be interested in a new degree LSBU are offering from Sept 14. The BA in Education Studies work based course is designed for teaching assistants or support staff already working in an educational setting who wish to gain a relevant degree whilst in employment. The course is 3 years long and will be one day a week so you can continue working alongside your study. All the info is attached. We have sent the info round to all HTs of local schools and the course is already proving really popular however (as a teacher myself) I know that very often information gets lost and doesn't always make it to the staff room noticeboard or coffee table so I thought mentioning here would be a good idea. LSBU will also be running a similar non-work based version too. Any questions see attached or please ask :-).
  4. Can I add my recommendation for Gary too - he came round to fix our doorbell and kitchen lights this week. He worked out what was wrong with the bell and sorted that and the kitchen lights quickly and efficiently. His prices are fair and he is extremely polite and very easy to communicate with - by text and/or phone. Thanks Gary!
  5. Thanks v much - I really appreciate you taking the time to give advice.? I had considered some of the things you mention so at least I'm on the right track :-)
  6. Thx for advice - I just wasn't sure whether there were any benefits or negatives to buy domain name from GoDaddy as well as/at the same time as hosting from them. As oppose to keeping the two separate i.e buying domain name say from 123Reg & then getting hosting say from GoDaddy.
  7. Please can anyone offer some advice.... I want to start a blog using Wordpress. I've decided on a domain name and it is available. Should I buy the domain name first - then look around for someone to host? Or do it all in one with someone like GoDaddy? How do I get email to match my new domain name? I'd really appreciate a few pointers in the right direction :-)
  8. Just seen the photos today and was really impressed. My family grew up here in the 1930s/40s and I'd love to show these photos to my Mum. Are they available digitally anywhere?
  9. If anyone is interested this is the response from the artist: "Are you referring to my illustration "a south Londoner's view of the world"? You can see it on this link www.crazypanda.com/gallery1.html and yes, I have been selling prints. All the best Amanda Lillywhite" If you would like a print you can email her for details, I don't think the image on her website shows how good the print actually is, you cannot make out many of the details on the map. It seems that this is not the same artist's work that I have seen on the greeting card showing a map of Dulwich Park/Village and notable residents - I shall have to investigate this further....
  10. Thanks for your suggestions. I contacted the Editor of Living South and received the answer to my question: "The artist is Amanda Lillywhite, who lives in Camberwell. I've forwarded your email to her so she can contact you direct about purchasing prints. This also may be of interest - in our current issue we are featuring a children's cartographer named Kourtney Harper. She lives in SE1 and her work can be viewed at www.guyfox.co.uk"
  11. A while ago there was a cartoonish style map printed on the front cover of the Living South magazine. It detailed lots of landmarks in South East London. Does anyone know who the artist is and if you can buy a print of this? I have also seen this persons work on greetings cards - one in particular is a map of Dulwich Park/Village.
