  1. I seem to remember the "main" article in the current edition of Absolutely Dulwich tells the wonderful story of a man who killed a rat with a wall mirror. Perhaps contact them and see if he does work with other household vanity furniture.
  2. I have BT Sports on BT Vision which indeed has 1 game a week, normally the lunchtime game on a Saturday. Then for an extra monthly payment I get Sky Sports 1 and 2, also through the BT Vision box. As I'm only really interested in football and cricket this works fine for me as I don't end up paying even more for "Lifestyle" channels on Sky that I will never watch. If you are into golf then its of less use as they are all on Sky Sports 3, and not available via BT Vision (same with F1 I guess). All in all though, the costs of each service are not extremely different, and the pure grief of having to deal with 2 sets of customer service departments has stopped me from even considering a switch.
  3. Was not concerned about the weight, just what the final look would be. As you mention, matching the bricks exactly would be tough, and also you would be left with a very big "wall" on the main length of the property as you are restricted to the amount/type of windows you can use. Thought the tile effect split this up a bit. I agree with the original post, that they are not the most beautiful looking thing in the world, but the additional internal space has more than made up for that.
  4. Just replied to a question on an earlier thread, and wanted to pass on a recommendation if you are considering having a loft conversion done. We have just completed work on a dormer at the back of our house and used Loftlife. Its always a bit of a nervous time having a company in to pretty much run the rule over your house, but I would not hesitate to recommend them. The work was completed to an extremely high standard, on time, and with no nasty additions to the pre agreed cost. The tradesmen we dealt with were excellent and we really felt we were in safe hands through the whole process.
  5. Hi, we just had a dormer added (the tile type you don't particulary like) but we were given the option to do it in brick. I can't remember the exact extra cost, but think it was around ?3k. We used Loftlife for the work and they were excellent, so maybe give them a call and discuss the look you are after.
  6. You can probably blame me Parsley, it was only a couple of weeks ago when i mentioned how good the trains have been from London Bridge back to ED. Then been stuck in both the situations you mention since! But other than that, I've had very few problems over the last year heading back between 5.30 to 6.30. Hopefully just a blip.
