On recent nights a man wearing a hi-viz jacket and head lamp has been spotted approaching several properties after midnight on Overhill Road and acting suspiciously. Our door camera shows him doing something around the area of our front door lock. He didn’t ring the bell or put anything through the letterbox, so hard to believe he was doing anything legitimate. update: Apparently could have been a British Gas worker investigating leak, although still seems a bit odd.

Royal Mail is worse than ever. I?m still waiting for a package sent from Burgess Hill on 7th April by Special Delivery -supposedly guaranteed delivery by 1pm next day. Also still waiting for a package sent first class on 26th March. We did get some post today but 3 letters were for a completely different road! Truly lamentable service from Royal Mail.

We?re on a slope, so not the easiest of conditions, but they?ve done a first class professional job. Really excellent work and Oskar has been very reliable. I'd like to recommend the services of Crown Joinery. We recently needed some period skirting board made up to match that used in the rest of the house. After reading recommendations on EDF, we headed for Crown Joinery in Tyrrell Road. It was soon apparent that the owner Alex, is a craftsman who takes a great deal of pride in his work. Although he specializes in doors and windows, he immediately understood what we wanted and was able to make a matching skirting within a couple of days. Thanks. A piece of advice I would give to homeowners is not to place too much faith in the sort of safes you can buy at B&Q. We had placed most of our valuables in one of these, bolted to an external wall, but the burgler managed to break the locking mechanism and empty the entire contents of the safe.

We're towards the Underhill Rd end. Police officer said there was another burglary on Overhill yesterday and several burglaries in the Dulwich area reported last night as burglars took advantage of police resources being tied up with the school stabbing.

We were burgled yesterday on Overhill Road. They smashed through rear garden double glazed door after climbing over 9 foot high side passage entrance. Probably happened between 4.30pm and 6.10pm but could have taken place earlier in the day. Did anyone see anything suspicious?

Another recommendation for roofer David Donnell of Norwood Roofing. 07412 000 214. I recently had rain water leaking through my roof and causing damage to a bedroom ceiling. The first two roofers I contacted failed to respond but David replied to my text within minutes and arranged to visit a couple of days later. After inspecting the roof he said it would be necessary to replace a piece of lead flashing and repoint some defective pointing. On the day of the job he turned up on time with his assistant Patrick and the work was completed within a couple of hours. Seems to have done the trick, as no more water is leaking through. I can't judge whether David's pricing is competitive as I was unable to get a second quote due to time constraints, but he is certainly reliable, as well as being polite.
