  1. That's a relief (as I had no back-up option) and better that I expected. Thank you BrandNewGuy!
  2. Hello, we are moving to the area and I am wondering if there is typically a problem getting on the 8.10am or 8.20am trains to London Bridge? Of course I am expecting standing room only, but are the trains ever so full that is not possible to get on the train at East Dulwich station?
  3. Hi, I have used this one, with dry yeast and great result although suspect fresh yeast would be even nicer. Midivydale is right about the international modified version - this recipy make the breadlike, much less crumbly version. you can still make them sweet with lots of sugar in the filling! http://scandikitchen.typepad.com/scandikitchen/2011/05/by-popular-demand-swedish-cinnamon-buns-recipe-kanelbullar.html

  5. I have flown with easyjet a couple of times with toddlers and found them really good - but then I haven't experienced how they handle things going wrong e.g. snow etc and suspect that may not be as good as other airlines. As mentioned, you get priority boarding with children and on my flights there has only been a handful of people who paid for speedy boarding and hence go before you - but may just have been lucky. They are also very quick to open the doors and let you off the plane. Of course for their own benefit to turn the plane around quickly, but still really helps - plus the snack trolley provides entertainment. If you are flying from Gatwick remember that there is a quite new dedicated security control for travellers with children and others needing special assistance - and with hardly any queue.
  6. A friend gave my daughter a really lovely silver bookmark in the shape of a fairy - she got it from either Alfie's or Gray's antiques market. Not hassle-free to source but certainly memorable...
  7. I have PM:d Julesh with the number I have - hopefully that works.
  8. Thanks for all the advice. Flexible hours could work with employeer but my LB nursery opens at 8 so couldn't do 8-4 ;( I tried to register at se23 forum twice but got no response from the administrator so gave up. Will try Brockley though. Would be very happy to do the ELL route via Canada Water - are those trains less packed? Good point about arriving early for the trains - so people do line up according to when they arrive? Way home worries me less as at least there is no stress getting to work for a specific time - although of course I don't want to spend evenings waiting on the LB platform. And I hadn't even thought about being able to get off the train but now I remember hardly making it off a train once as the doorway was blocked...
  9. I would recommend contacting Tina Archer to see if she could help. I found her excellent in assessing my son. http://www.babbleandsqueak.com/Babbleandsqueak/About_Me.html
  10. Thanks for the advice - someone also said the trains before 8 were much better that those after... ? apenn would you say they are packed also earlier in the morning? Definitely not expecting to sit down but would need to be sure to at least get on the train and not having to wait for next as then I'd be late for work. And not be a complete wreck once I get to LB. Was wondering whether the new East London Line had improved the situation? Grateful for any other experiences....
  11. Hello, Not truly East Dulwich but we may be moving to Honour Oak Park/Forest Hill area shortly from London Bridge and as we are likely to struggle to get a local nursery space (especially with two kids - one is 3 and one is 2) would anyone know how packed the trains are in the morning? It is obviously not a dream scenario in any way but would I be able to travel to LB with a small buggy and a toddler in tow to be at LB for 8.15-8.30 and then home again around 6pm? It is for three days per week... Anyone doing anything similar? Thanks in advance for help. Cecilia
